3 The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is a welcoming community of prayer, worship and service seeking to teach and reconcile God s people through Jesus Christ. JANUARY 2019 CATHEDRAL WELCOMES NEW VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR After a lengthy search in which Cathedral leadership looked closely at the important role of volunteers at the Cathedral and how they support and enhance the mission of the Cathedral, a new Volunteer Coordinator has been selected. With gratitude to God, we welcome Cari Hilger to the Cathedral. Below is a brief biography. Cari Garcia Hilger is a graduate of Rosary High School (Fullerton), University of California San Diego and UCLA School of Law. She was an Associate Director at Barbri Bar Review for 16 years where she taught law students how to pass the California Bar exam. She has served on the Parish Council at St. Agatha s Church in West Adams and most recently on the Parish Council at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westwood, where her four children attended elementary school. She served as the PTA president last year at St. Paul the Apostle School where she oversaw the volunteer activities of the school, coordinating the efforts of the hundreds of volunteers. Cari is bilingual (English/Spanish) and spent a year living with her husband and four children in Tarragona, Spain. She has been a Church volunteer her entire adult life and is excited to work with and meet all of the volunteers here at the Cathedral.
