23 B Powerbus Busway PBPFA/PBPQOR/PBPQO/PBPTB Plug-In Units 02/2014 Section 6 Installing the Plug-In (Tap-off) Unit onto the Busway Pre-Installation Testing If the following Danger label is on the plug-in unit enclosure, only install the plug-in unit on a busway with catalog numbers beginning with PBCX4B or PBCX5A. DANGER HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH This plug-in unit is equipped with an isolated ground. Grounding of the load through this plug-in unit is only accomplished when the unit is installed on a busway equipped with an isolated ground. Use this plug-in only with an isolated ground busway with catalog numbers beginning with PBCX4B or PBCX5A. Installation of this plug-in unit on any other busway designations will result in an ungrounded load. ENGLISH Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury. Plug-in units with installed receptacles and with drop cords and connectors should only be installed onto a busway that operates at the same voltage as the connector(s)/receptacle(s). If the plug-in unit does not have a circuit breaker installed, refer to Installing the Circuit Breaker in a Plug-In (Tap-Off) Unit on page 33 before proceeding with the pre-installation testing and installation of the plug-in unit onto the busway. Before installing the plug-in unit onto the busway, perform the following steps to conduct a continuity test: 1. If a conduit will be installed in the plug-in unit: a. Remove the door screws, retaining the screws to secure the door after wiring is completed. b. Punch a conduit installation hole in the desired location (see Figure 23, Plug-in Unit Wiring Diagram, on page 30 for cable entry positions). c. Remove all debris from the enclosure interior. 2. Verify that the plug-in unit cover is secure (Figure 5). Figure 5: Securing the Plug-In Unit Cover Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved 21
