Many work schedules slow down somewhat during the summer months, so what por on of that extra TIME will you give to God? Here is a list of the Good Steward s top ten picks for summer stewardship of TIME. Devote an extra 10 minutes each day to formal prayer. Whether you choose contempla on, medita on, centering prayer, mantra, the Rosary, or other devo onal prayer just pick the best me each day and do it! Go to daily Mass. If you cannot get to Mass, do the daily readings. The daily readings can be found on the USCCB website at h p:// index.cfm or on our Parish App. Spend some me with Our Lord on retreat. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. These people, who are the beneficiaries of so much during the winter holidays, are o en forgo en during the summer months. At the mid-point of the year, perhaps you might want to take a look at your household budget, expenses and income maybe it is me to re-evaluate your charitable giving. Visit with an elderly neighbor or rela ve. Many elderly people cannot go outside during the heat of the summer months. Make an outside prayer garden. Then spend some quiet me each day reflec ng on God s gi s of crea on. Enjoy a favorite recrea onal ac vity with your family or friends. Take an inventory of your summer clothes. Donate those that you don t wear any more to a homeless shelter or relief mission. Enjoy the beauty of the summer months and take the me to thank God for His works of crea on. 9 No teman a los que matan el cuerpo, pero no el alma Mateo 10, Oración Introductoria Aquí estoy ante ti, Jesús mío. Vengo ante ti para estar unos momentos contigo. Te pido que renueves mi amor, mi fe y mi confianza en ti. Además te quiero pedir una cosa más, que jamás me aparte de ti. Señor, ayúdame a sacar el mayor provecho posible de esta meditación. Petición Jesús, ilumina mi alma y mi mente para escuchar tu voz, en la meditación, y seguirla. Reflexión " Acaso no se vende un par de pájaros por unas monedas? Sin embargo, ni uno solo de ellos cae en tierra, sin el consentimiento del Padre que está en el cielo. Ustedes tienen contados todos sus cabellos. No teman entonces, porque valen más que muchos pájaros. Dios nunca se deja ganar en generosidad. Como buen Padre, nos consiente y nos da toda clase de bienes, aun aquellos que no nos atrevemos a pedir; pero como buen Maestro, también nos educa y nos enseña a vivir confiados en Él, poniendo al mismo tiempo de nuestra parte para corresponder a su amor. La confianza, es una virtud elemental en toda relación humana, y cuánta más confianza deberíamos tener en Dios. Recuerden, cuando eran pequeños, aquella vez que paseaban por la ciudad. Caminaban de la mano de su Padre, alegres. Como todo niño miraban a todas partes, no temían nada estando al lado de su padre. Voltearon a ver a su papá y le dijeron que lo querían, no con palabras sino tan solo con una mirada... se sentían seguros. Sabían que su papá no dejaría que les ocurriera nada malo, nada que pudiera dañarlos. Pues Dios, que es nuestro Padre celestial, jamás va a permitir nada semejante para nosotros. Tenemos garantía en el Evangelio de que así será, y en el presente no es la excepción: "Ustedes tienen contados todos sus cabellos. No teman entonces, porque valen más que muchos pájaros". Ya lo decía Santa Teresita de Lisieux: "Lo que le duele a Dios, lo que hiere su corazón es la falta de confianza en Él". "Al que me reconozca abiertamente ante los hombres, yo los reconoceré ante mi Padre que está en el cielo". Que Qué más queremos, si Jesús mismo intercede por nosotros ante el Padre! Tan solo hay una pequeña aunque costosa condición: Reconocerle abiertamente ante los hombres. Esta condición es pequeña pero difícil porque muchas veces preferimos "quedar bien" ante nuestros amigos, compañeros de trabajo, ante la sociedad... Nuestra manera de reconocerle ante los hombres, y así no ser negados por Cristo ante el Padre, es dar testimonio de vida con cosas tan simples como ir a Misa, confesarse y -si llega el casodefender la fe. De este modo Cristo estará feliz con nosotros y será nuestra garantía el día final. Propósito Hoy daré testimonio de mi fe invitando a un amigo a hacer una visita a la Eucaristía. Diálogo con Cristo Señor, te pido que me des la gracia de jamás negarte delante de los hombres. Te pido fortaleza, fe y amor para dar testimonio con mi vida. Sé que me costará pero contigo a mi lado todo lo puedo. Te amo, Señor. 8 consejos del Papa para tener éxito en el matrimonio Primero, los novios tienen que estar dispuestos a convertirse en artesanos o incluso, en joyeros. "El matrimonio es un trabajo de todos los días, se puede decir que artesanal, un trabajo de orfebrería porque el marido tiene la tarea de hacer más mujer a la mujer y la mujer tiene la tarea de hacer más hombre al marido. Crecer también en humanidad, como hombre y mujer. Dijo el Papa que es un trabajo "para siempre pero que no hay que asustarse. Se puede construir día a día. "El amor es una realización, una realidad que crece y podemos decir, como ejemplo, que es como construir una casa. Y la casa se construye juntos, no solos!. Para vivir juntos para siempre es necesario que los cimientos del matrimonio estén asentados sobre roca firme. "No querréis construirla sobre la arena de los sentimientos que van y vienen, sino sobre la roca del amor verdadero, el amor que viene de Dios. Para que un matrimonio sea feliz, no basta con que dure "para siempre. La cantidad es tan importante como la calidad. "Un matrimonio no tiene éxito sólo si dura, es importante también la calidad. Y hay que mirar al cielo. Como se pide el pan de cada día en el Padrenuestro, el Papa recomienda una oración para los esposos. "En el Padrenuestro decimos: Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día. El matrimonio puede aprender a rezar así: Danos hoy nuestro amor de cada día. Para, estar enamorado significa pronunciar a menudo estas tres palabras: con permiso, gracias y perdón. " Puedo?" Es la petición amable de entrar en la vida de algún otro con respeto y atención... Sabemos dar las gracias?: En vuestra relación ahora y en vuestra futura vida matrimonial, es importante mantener viva la conciencia de que la otra persona es un don de Dios... y a los dones de Dios se les dice gracias. avisa: no hay ninguna persona que sea perfecta. Por eso, el secreto de la felicidad es pedir perdón. "Todos sabemos que no existe la familia perfecta, ni el marido o la mujer perfectos. No digamos la suegra perfecta...existimos nosotros, los pecadores. Jesús, que nos conoce bien, nos enseña un secreto: que un día no termine nunca sin pedir perdón. también dio algunos consejos para hacer del día de la boda una jornada inolvidable y genuina "Hacedla de forma que sea una auténtica fiesta, porque el matrimonio es una fiesta, una fiesta cristiana, no una fiesta mundana! Imaginad acabar la fiesta bebiendo té! No puede ser. Sin vino no hay fiesta!. Amor, paciencia, comprensión y oración son algunos de los elementos presentes en los consejos del Papa. Después del "sí quiero no hay que quedarse con los brazos cruzados sino trabajar el "para siempre.
