5 Around our Parish & School Fourth grade students sold lemonade and goodies to raise funds for vic ms of recent disasters in South America. Students had just finished studying the novel Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies and wanted to challenge each other to their own Lemonade War. Students raised $400 which will be donated to Catholic Relief Services.

6 OUR STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE The Diocesan Support Appeal is the major source of funding for the Permanent Diaconate program in our diocese. We have 15 men who are studying to be deacons in the Diocese of Charlo e, and 121 who are currently serving in our diocese. Notes from the Parish Nurse Thank you to the volunteers that helped out with the Red Cross Blood Drive on Sunday May 28, It was a successful day. We were able to collect 29 units of blood! Please keep us in mind for September and our Fall Blood Drive. More informa on to come... Volunteers will be needed late summer, skilled in light duty construc on and able to li moderate weight, to help remove the old bleachers in ougym. Those par cipa ng may take home some of the reclaimed wood. 9 Tanto amó Dios Juan 3, Solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad Ciclo A. Es el misterio del amor de Dios; del amor más puro y más hermoso del universo. Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo que dio a su Hijo único, para que todo el que crea en Él no perezca, sino que tenga vida eterna. Porque Dios no ha enviado a su Hijo al mundo para juzgar al mundo, sino para que el mundo se salve por Él. El que cree en Él, no es juzgado; pero el que no cree, ya está juzgado, porque no ha creído en el Nombre del Hijo único de Dios. Reflexión Muchas veces, cuando no entendemos alguna cosa, un poco en plan de broma decimos que es más oscuro que el misterio de la Santísima Trinidad. Y, sin embargo, nada es más cercano a nuestra vida cristiana que este maravilloso dogma. Cuantas veces nos persignamos a lo largo del día, invocamos el nombre bendito de la Trinidad. Y qué otra cosa decimos, sino: En el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo? Además, cada vez que rezamos el Gloria, hacemos un acto de adoración y de glorificación a la Trinidad Santísima: Gloria al Padre y al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo. Pero, tal vez no somos muy conscientes de este misterio. Sabemos que Dios es Uno y Trino a la vez, pero no mucho más... El verdadero amor, el amor más bello, más hermoso y noble es el amor puro y casto, el amor que sabe olvidarse de sí mismo y renunciar al propio egoísmo, al propio capricho y al placer desordenado para pensar en el bien y en la felicidad auténtica de la persona amada. Desafortunadamente la sociedad está muy secularizada estamos bombardeados de hedonismo, de sexo y de erotismo... Da una pena enorme ver a tantos jóvenes, en la flor de la vida, ya con ideas erróneas sobre el amor y con comportamientos a veces tan desviados! Por eso hay que proponerle a los jóvenes estas ideas para tratar de sembrar así en su corazón valores nobles y sentimientos generosos. Y como los jóvenes aman lo bello y lo grande, responden a estos ideales de un modo positivo. Pues la Santísima Trinidad es el misterio del amor de Dios; del amor más puro y más hermoso del universo. Más aún, es la revelación de un Dios que es el Amor en Persona, según la maravillosa definición que nos hizo san Juan: Dios es Amor (I Jn 4, 8). Siempre que nos habla de Sí mismo, se expresa con el lenguaje bello del amor humano. Todo el Antiguo y el Nuevo Testamento son testigos de ello. Dios se compara al amor de un padre bueno y a la ternura de la más dulce de las madres; al amor de un esposo tierno y fiel, de un amigo o de un hermano. Y en el Evangelio, Jesús nos revela a un Padre infinitamente cariñoso y misericordioso: Con qué tonos tan estupendos nos habló siempre de Él! El Buen Pastor que carga en sus hombros a la oveja perdida; el Padre bueno que hace salir su sol sobre justos e injustos, que viste de esplendor a las flores del campo y alimenta a los pajarillos del cielo; el Rey que da a su hijo único y lo entrega a la muerte por salvar a su pueblo; o esa maravillosa parábola del hijo pródigo, que nos revela más bien al Padre de las misericordias, al padre con corazón de madre como ha escrito un autor contemporáneo, con entrañas de ternura y delicadeza infinita. Éste es el misterio del amor más bello, el misterio de la Santísima Trinidad: las tres Personas divinas que viven en esa unión íntima e infinita de amor; un amor que es comunión y que se difunde hacia nosotros como donación de todo su Ser. Y porque nos ama, busca hacernos partícipes de su misma vida divina: Si alguno me ama, guardará mi palabra, y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él y en él haremos nuestra morada (Jn 14, 23). Y también porque nos ama, busca el bien supremo de nuestra alma: la salvación eterna. Éste es el núcleo del misterio trinitario! Ojalá que todas las veces que nos persignemos y digamos: En el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, lo hagamos con más atención, nos acordemos de que Dios es Amor y de que nos ama infinitamente; agradezcamos ese amor y vivamos llenos de confianza, de alegría y de felicidad al sabernos sus hijos muy amados. Y, en consecuencia, tratemos de dar a conocer también a los demás este amor de Dios a través de la caridad hacia nuestros prójimos: Todo el que ama, ha nacido de Dios y conoce a Dios, porque Dios es Amor.
