Through this program babies who are in danger of abor on are adopted and prayed for during their nine-months in the womb. The adop ve family or individual may choose a boy or girl, and may name their baby. Most importantly, they pray daily, for God s mercy for the safety of the baby and for its parents. You will be introduced to a reliable and well validated on-line survey, the Gallup Strengthsfinder, that will determine your top 5 God Given Strengths. Thanks to all who made the Ethan Sco fundraiser such a huge success, especially the Knights of Columbus for their generous dona on, as well as Patrick Valen ne, Vince Mooney, my husband Kevin and son Mar n, who provided addi onal Knights of Columbus assistance. 9 Curación de la suegra de Pedro Marcos 1, Oración introductoria Jesús, Tú si sabías darle el lugar que le corresponde a tu Padre en tu vida. Ni los milagros, ni la atención a tus discípulos te hacían olvidar lo fundamental: la oración. Permite que yo sepa vivir tu estilo de vida, quiero enamorarme más de Ti en esta oración para poder ser fiel a mi vida de oración y, así, convertirme en un propagador de tu amor entre todos los hombres. Petición Señor, ayúdame a orar y a dialogar con tu Padre como Tú lo hacías. Meditación del Papa Francisco La obra salvadora de Cristo, no se agota con su persona durante su vida terrena; ésta prosigue mediante la Iglesia, sacramento del amor y de la ternura de Dios hacia los hombres. Al enviar en misión a sus discípulos, Jesús les confiere una doble misión: anunciar el Evangelio de la salvación y sanar a los enfermos. Fiel a esta enseñanza, la Iglesia siempre ha considerado la asistencia a los enfermos como parte integrante de su misión. Los pobres y los que sufren, los tendrán siempre, advierte Jesús. Y la Iglesia continuamente les encuentra en la calle, considerando a las personas enfermas como una vía privilegiada para encontrar a Cristo, para acogerlo y servirlo. Curar a un enfermo, acogerlo y servirlo es servir a Cristo, el enfermo es la carne de Cristo. Esto sucede en nuestro tiempo, cuando a pesar de las diversas adquisiciones de la ciencia, el sufrimiento interior y físico de las personas despierta fuertes interrogantes sobre el sentido de la enfermedad y del dolor, y sobre el porqué de la muerte. Son preguntas existenciales a las cuales la acción pastoral de la Iglesia debe responder a la luz de la fe, teniendo delante de los ojos al Crucifico, en el cual aparece todo el misterio de salvación de Dios padre, que por amor de los hombres no escatimó a su propio Hijo. Por lo tanto cada uno de nosotros está llamado a llevar la luz del evangelio y la fuerza de la gracia a quienes sufren y a todos aquellos que los asisten, familiares, médicos, enfermeros, para que el servicio al enfermo sea realizado cada vez con más humanidad, con dedicación generosa, con amor evangélico, y con ternura. Reflexión Jesús nunca se ha cansado de servir a los hombres. Hoy aún sigue siendo el hombre más servidor de todos. Él mismo nos lo dijo: "no he venido a ser servido, sino a servir". Pero de vez en cuando Él buscaba momentos de tranquilidad al lado de sus discípulos. Hoy es uno de esos días. Han llegado a la casa de Simón, y encuentra a la suegra de éste enferma. Jesús, no sabiendo cómo no salvar un alma más en ese día, la toma de la mano y la cura. Parece que Dios, hecho hombre para servir no quiera hacer otra cosa. Él todo poderoso; Él conocedor de los sufrimientos humanos; Él que tanto ha amado al mundo, se iba a quedar tranquilo viendo a los hombres perderse? No, hay que salvarlos a toda costa. Por eso allí está, sirviendo en los momentos de mayor intimidad con sus discípulos. La suegra aprendió muy bien la lección de ese día: "En ese momento se le quitó la fiebre y se puso a servirles". Cuántas lecciones tenemos que sacar de este pequeño acto de donación? Se dice que arrastra más un ejemplo que muchas palabras. Aquí lo tienen. El ejemplo está claro: Cristo, servidor de los hombres para salvarlos. Aunque haya pasado toda una tarde de enseñanzas con sus discípulos, Él al atardecer sirvió a los demás, para darles la Vida y que la tuvieran en abundancia. No sólo actuó en ese pueblo, sino que su amor se extendió, durante su vida terrena, a los judíos, pero ahora sigue haciendo el bien, a través de un ejemplo de uno de sus consagrados, a través de la oración abnegada de todos los días de una madre de familia, o la sencillez de corazón de un jovencito que hace un acto de amor para con el viejito que está cruzando la calle. El actúa hoy de muchas formas en el mundo, principalmente a través de la oración. Propósito Oración confiada para no dejar que la duda o la angustia me domine cuando surjan los problemas de la vida.
