The main objective of this course is that students acquire the ability to apply psychological knowledge and ethical manner in accordance with the principle of equal opportunities and respect and appreciation of human diversity. The theoretical and practical nature of the subject enables the knowledge is acquired through practical activities will be strengthened to facilitate comprehension and encourage critical and creative spirit. OUTCOMES 1319 Grado de Psicología Students must have acquired knowledge and understanding in a specific field of study, on the basis of general secondary education and at a level that includes mainly knowledge drawn from advanced textbooks, but also some cuttingedge knowledge in their field of study. Students must be able to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and have acquired the competences required for the preparation and defence of arguments and for problem solving in their field of study. Students must have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (usually in their field of study) to make judgements that take relevant social, scientific or ethical issues into consideration. Students must be able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both expert and lay audiences. Students must have developed the learning skills needed to undertake further study with a high degree of autonomy. LEARNING OUTCOMES Identify the contributions of the various sciences and schools that are relevant to current psychology from a historical perspective and the psychological contexts at the present time. Use research and documentation techniques to learn about the past of psychology and the current status of this science. Identify professional profiles in current psychology. Act in accordance with the code of ethics, professional competence and procedural safeguards in psychology considering the values of fairness and equality in the professional practice of psychology and the recognition and value of human diversity in the different fields of application of the principles of equality: education, work, family and health. 2

Profiles of professional activity: use of information, professional competence, intervention, research and teaching and procedural guarantees in psychology 3. Unit 3. Principles of fairness and equity values among people 4. Unit 4. Recognition and value of human diversity: ethnicity, gender and disability 5. Unit 5. Inequality, discrimination and mistreatment: from abuse and discriminatory behaviour to psychosocial wellbeing 6. Unit 6. Equality, diversity and wellness 7. Unit 7. 4 TEACHING METHODOLOGY Active and participative methodology which integrates different methodologies to promote meaningful learning and the development of subjectspecific competences. M1. Lectures delivered by the lecturer to present the different contents of the subject area, while promoting participatory involvement of students through the resolution of issues that may arise throughout the presentation. M14. Practical classes which include both group dynamics and classroom presentations by students of the tasks assigned, as well as textual analyses. M3. Individualised tutoring to supervise that students learning progress is adequate. EVALUATION The minimum requirements to pass the subject Professional Ethics and Values of Equality in are: To pass the final individual test To submit mandatory reports and obtain a minimum mark of PASS in those reports. Exams An individual objective final test (exam) will be held on a date determined by the faculty. This test will include all the contents covered throughout the course. Exams are worth 70% of the final mark. Reports Students are required to submit reports for the two thematic blocks. These reports will consist of a supervised essay with a structure determined by the lecturer. They must be submitted at the end of the corresponding block. Reports contribute 20% of the final mark. Coursework Additionally, activities will be assessed as determined by the lecturer. Activities include exercises, reviews, analysis, assessments, etc. 4
