4 3. Description of the course 3.1. Presentation The aim of this course is to provide the student further knowledge in the use of tools used in the previous course by creating analysis, planning and simulation models with spreadsheets 3.2. Adaptation to the professional profile 3.3. How it relates to other courses The course Extended Computing for Business is part of the block Computing which is formed by this course and Computing for Business (second year, 6 ECTS, 1 nd. quarter, compulsory). The prerequisites for this course is having attended the course Computing for Business Incompatibilities None Recommendations for taking the course 3.6. Students with special needs Any student who has particular circumstances and may require special resources should let the professor know at the beginning of the quarter. The numbers of students is limited to 35, the number of computers in the classroom.

Students with at least 80% of class attendance will have the opportunity to do a group decision-making model that will account 80% of the final grade for the course. Individual work: The student will have to submit individual exercises at the end of some classes. The exercises evaluation will account 10% of the final grade for the course. Since the class size is small, each student's learning is monitored almost personally. Tutorials attendance: The student will have to attendance tutorials in the lecturer s office. Tutorials are useful for solve questions, correct possible gaps and improve knowledge. The attendance will account 10% of the final grade for the course. Exam: As an alternative to previous mechanisms, an examination will be given on the contents covered during the course, which will include problems to be solved. The characteristics of the exam, as well as the date, time and location will be indicated on the announcement, which is given at least 15 days before the scheduled exam. The exam will account 100% of the final grade for the course. The tests (exams, classroom participation, solving practical cases, etc.) enable detecting possible gaps and make it possible to consolidate the most important concepts of the course.
