Los siguientes son los REQUISITOS para poder bautizar a su hijo(a) en St. Rita: La forma de bautismo COMPLETADA Una copia del certificado de nacimiento del niño(a). Tanto a los Padres del niño(a) y Padrinos una copia del los Certificado de Preparación de Bautismo. Si los padrinos están casados, tienen que estar casados por la Iglesia Católica y traer una copia de su Certificado de Matrimonio. La fecha del bautismo será confirmada/reservada una vez que la oficina parroquial reciba todos los documentos en orden.

3 Page 3 August 19, 2018 FROM THE On this Sunday, we PRIESTS DESK continue to read from the VI chapter of the Gospel of John. We hear again the concluding verse of last week s Gospel repeated in today s reading: Jesus himself is the bread sent by God; Jesus flesh is the bread that is given for the life of the world. Among the stumbling blocks for those who heard but did not understand Jesus is the teaching that the bread that Jesus will give is his own flesh. In response to the people who quarreled over his words, Jesus teaches with even greater emphasis that salvation comes to those who eat his Body and Blood. Jesus teaches us about the life that he will give to the world. To many ears, Jesus words are jarring and difficult to hear. Many who heard Jesus could not accept what he said. Many today continue to struggle to accept these words. But they are important words because they reveal our intimate connection with Jesus. This is the mystery that is at the heart of our Eucharistic theology. In the elements of bread and wine, Jesus Body and Blood are made truly present. When we share in the Body and Blood of Christ, Jesus himself comes to dwell within us. This communion with the Lord makes us one body, brings us eternal life, and sends us forth to be Christ s body for the life of the world. Del Escritorio Este domingo Del Sacerdote continuamos leyendo el sexto capítulo del evangelio de Juan. Volvemos a escuchar los últimos versículos proclamados la semana pasada: Jesús es el pan dado por Dios; su carne es el pan que se entrega para la vida del mundo. Una de las mayores dificultades para la multitud que escuchaba a Jesús hablar de esta manera fue que: el pan que Jesús brinda es su propia carne. En respuesta a aquellos que disentían y protestaban por esta aserción, Jesús enseña con acentuado énfasis que la salvación será para quienes coman su Cuerpo y beban su Sangre; es la vida que Él le ofrece al mundo. Para muchos, semejante afirmación les resultó muy duro lenguaje y, gran parte de ellos rechazó su doctrina. Aún hoy numerosos son los incrédulos. Sin embargo, comprender el mensaje de Cristo es esencial ya que nos permite unirnos mejor a Él. Este es el misterio oculto en la teología eucarística. En las sustancias del pan y del vino, el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo se hacen presentes. Cuando recibimos este mirífico sacramento, Jesús mismo viene a morar en nosotros. La comunión con Cristo nos hace un solo cuerpo, nos conduce a la vida eterna, y transformados en su imagen nos envía para dar vida al mundo.

RITA FAITH FORMATION PARENT RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT As stated in The Catechism of the Catholic Church No. 2226: Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child s earliest years. This already happens when family members help one another grow in faith by the witness of a Christian life in keeping with the Gospel. Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God. The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is a privileged place of the catechesis of children and parents. The St. Rita Faith Formation staff, along with the Pastor, believe parents are the primary educators in the faith formation of young persons. As primary catechists of your children, you teach by the word and example of your everyday lives. It is important that you model the behavior and example you want your child(ren) to display. They need to see and experience ongoing Scripture study, regular participation in the Mass and Sacraments, care for the needy, and service to the community as an important part of your life. As parents, we ask you to stress, to your child(ren), the importance of learning about his or her faith, by talking about and taking an interest in what they are learning in the Faith Formation class, by providing model learning behavior, by participating in adult education opportunities, by helping your child to actively practice his or her faith, by attending Sunday Mass and daily prayer, and by accepting primary responsibility for the religious education of your child(ren). Further, Faith Formation classes are intended to support your efforts to teach and nurture the faith of your child(ren) at home. Thus, we ask that you help us to reinforce the catechist s attempt to maintain a teachable atmosphere in the classroom by ensuring your child properly respects his/her catechist and behaves in a proper manner in the classroom. I, as a parent registering my child(ren) in St. Rita Faith Formation program, agree to: Register and be a contributing member of St. Rita Parish. Provide the parish with information regarding my child s baptism and other sacraments, as applicable. Attend Sunday Mass weekly with my child. Take responsibility for my role as the primary catechist of my child. Collaborate with the program catechists by sharing my faith with my child at home. Ensure my child does any required follow-up to the lessons taught in class. Teach my child the traditional prayers of the Church at home. Maintain an open line of communication with my child s catechist. Bring my child to all scheduled classes/meetings/family events. Ensure that my child is dropped off for class on time, that my child enters the building where classes are being held, and that once dropped off my child goes to the designated classroom. Attend student/parent meetings when requested. Support the catechist, especially in the area of discipline. Contact the Faith Formation office via or phone, if student will be absent. I have received and reviewed the parental responsibilities for St. Rita Faith Formation Programs. I understand the responsibilities and intend to abide by them. I have also discussed the responsibilities with my child(ren). Parent Signature and Date
