Today we rejoice in realizing that this Light is for us! The whole of creation knows that Redemption is at hand - indeed lying in a manger with Joseph and Mary. This Baby will offer his life for us so that we may be set free from sin and eternal damnation. This Star of Bethlehem is for us! It tells you and I that the love of God shines upon our darkness and this light has to be followed. Nature recognizes - in the presence of the Star - the Holy Infant. The Magi too rejoice because God kept his promise and He did not abandoned his people in darkness. These Wise Men from the East represent us - gentiles - to whom the revelation of the Christ has been made known. This is the joy of this day: Christ has been revealed to the whole world, not just to the shepherds, not just to Jerusalem, not just to the people of Israel, but to all nations ( Epiphany means revelation.) Therefore, let us follow this Star, let us not be afraid to enter I to the will of God, knowing that whatever trial or sacrifice is ahead of us, our names are written in the Book our lives will shine for ever with God in the Heavens. Page 4 The Epiphany of the Lord January 8, 2017 LA EPIFANIA DEL SEÑOR Hoy Dios se presenta en medio de nosotros, y no como el Dios grandilocuente de Isaías, sino como un niño que nace en medio de la noche, iluminando la oscuridad. Nace para todos, y todos podemos adorarlo. Dios, luz de justicia y camino de salvación hace pasar su historia por los últimos. Un bebe en un establo, un bebe que nace migrante, un bebe totalmente indefenso. Y esa luz, ese niño que nace nos cuestiona: cómo nos posicionamos nosotros ante él? qué hacemos ante la luz de la estrella? abrimos los ojos? los cerramos para no ver? nos quedamos sentados? nos levantamos y nos ponemos en camino? Los tres reyes magos somos nosotros cuando vivimos con los ojos abiertos, buscando la verdad en nuestra realidad, en los rostros de nuestros seres queridos y de aquellos que nos cruzamos en nuestro camino. Los tres reyes magos somos nosotros cuando nos ponemos en camino para perseguir nuestros sueños, esos sueños que parecen lejanos e imposibles de alcanzar pero que nos mantienen en camino ante las dificultades. Los tres reyes magos somos nosotros cuando seguimos nuestras intuiciones, cuando preguntamos por lo que no sabemos y somos capaces de sacar nuestras propias conclusiones. Los tres reyes magos somos nosotros cuando nuestro corazón se alegra cuando encontramos parte de esa luz de Dios, en lo pequeño, en los gestos cotidianos que son verdaderos regalos: en el beso de una madre, en una sonrisa, en una ayuda inesperada, Los tres reyes magos somos nosotros cuando descubrimos el rostro de Jesús en los rostros anónimos sufrientes y somos capaces de regalarnos, de entregar nuestro tiempo, nuestras capacidades, nuestro dinero a los demás. Vivamos por tanto como los magos, en búsqueda activa, con capacidad de ver, de alegrarse y sorprenderse, y hagamos que los que nos rodean se sientan queridos y felices, con independencia del lugar en el que se encuentren, sea un portal, una casa, un refugio o un hospital. Adoremos a Dios en los que nos rodean, en los lejanos y los cercanos, en los queremos y en aquellos deberíamos querer más, porque en todos está Dios.
