I have begun the process of contracting with an Olweus presenter to come to Mesa on April for a two day training of our committee. I'm still looking for at least one, hopefully two, community members to help serve on the committee. Please contact our office or me directly if you would like to serve on the committee. The composition of our committee will include: 2-3 Community members 2-3 Staff members 2-3 Supervisors Announcements Parent Meeting: Planning for Community Success On January 19th, 2016 from 5:00-6:00, we will meet with parents at Mesa School. We will discuss what we are doing well and what we need to improve upon for our community's success. Please let our office know if you are interested in attending so that we can have a nice dinner ready for you! HELP NEEDED - MUSTACHE DASH! (Jog-a-thon) Two meetings will be held on Thursday January 21st to start planning this year's Mustache Dash (Jog-a-thon). PFO is looking for help in deciding prizes as well as looking for some volunteers to help organize this year's event. We will meet in the cafeteria 8:30am and 2pm. Text/ questions to richelle.solis@gmail.com District Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meeting The next PAC meeting is this Thursday evening January 21st 6:00pm in the MPR. The PAC advises the MESA Union Board of Education of parents perspectives and provides recommendations about school district issues. The Board of Trustees has created the PAC as a formal way to include parent perspectives in the district s decision-making process. PAC members actively reach out to engage families in district policy discussions and to represent parent concerns to district leaders. The PAC also supports parents to participate in school site and district-level governance. Kinder If you have Kindergarteners coming to Mesa next year please contact our office to let us know. He comenzado el proceso de contratación con un presentador Olweus venir a Mesa de abril para una capacitación de dos días de nuestra comisión. Todavía estoy en busca de al menos uno, con suerte dos, miembros de la comunidad para ayudar a servir en el comité. This unique program, offered to Southern California school groups, couples the excitement and tradition of UCLA Athletic events with a message about the importance of higher education While at the college fair, students speak with academic counselors and pick up educational information about questions they may have regarding education and preparing for college.
