1 APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS School Year Please read the description of Montgomery Public Schools First Class Pre-K Program on the Montgomery Public School website at Click on the For Parents section found at the top of the page and look for the First Class Pre-K tab. If our program matches your child s needs, complete the application and return it to the McKee Pre-K Center. MPS offers a free full-day, high-quality program with certified teachers. Our First Class Pre-K programs usually operate on the regular school system calendar. Students attend educational field trips monthly and parents are expected to attend. Programs may be offered at local public schools or through private providers of preschool services such as Head Start and Family Guidance Success By 6. Transportation IS NOT provided for First Class Pre-K Students. Montgomery Public Schools First Class Pre-K Program is a Title I and State Grant funded educational program for all age eligible four-year-old children in the Montgomery Public Schools District. The application must be filled out completely. Failure to do so may result in an application not being considered. Please type or print clearly all information on the application. All applications received after March 16, 2017 will not be considered for immediate selection. Applicants must be four (4) years old on or before September 1. Parents that are interested in Southlawn or Highland Gardens Pre-K are required to be zoned for those schools. Please provide the following when submitting your application: Birth Certificate, Proof of Residence (current utility bill with the parent s name; electric or gas); and current lease or mortgage, Parent and/or Guardian s Picture ID. Parents will receive a phone call after March 16, 2017 for a scheduled Pre-K Screening. The results from the Pre- K Screening will have no impact on your child s lottery selection for acceptance into the program. PROGRAM HOURS 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ALL students must be picked up by 2:30p.m. PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE Letters will be mailed to all applicants that apply for Montgomery Public Schools First Class Pre-K Program: McKee Pre-K, Floyd Pre-K, Highland Gardens Pre-K, Wares Ferry Pre-K, Southlawn Pre-K, and Pintlala Pre-K notifying parents of their child s status by April 24, Parents should return acceptance letters to the McKee Pre-K Center Office by May 8, THESE ITEMS ARE REQUIRED AFTER YOU RECEIVE A LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE A current Alabama Blue Immunization Certificate (current shot record); Social Security Card is optional, however can be helpful in completing the registration process.
