3 Page 3 Third Sunday Easter of Lord you will show us the path of life (Psalm 16) On the right column of this Pastor s Desk page there are quotes from Pope Francis (Evangeli Gaudium-The Joy of the Gospel book). Our Claretian texts in Spanish and English give us a sampling of what Joy Pope Francis wishes to share with and for us in our Christian journey. This Sunday he is encouraging how to better communicate the Gospel to the Youth of our churches and society. Pope Francis seems to be saying we need to find a language to better communicate about the things of the Creator and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Pope Francis is not necessarily meaning human tongue language but rather the language of the heart and head which makes a difference. Given today s Gospel about the Emmaus journey we can appreciate what Pope Francis means about a better language. The disciples of Jesus did not recognize Jesus in conversation or sight until Jesus took the bread and wine and blessed it and gave it to them after their long walk then their eyes were opened. May we never miss an opportunity to encounter the Risen Jesus in our midst each day and especially at the Eucharist. Jesus is Risen, He is risen Indeed! Fr.
