1 School Achievements During the school year, Luther Vaughan Elementary School were recognized for the following: Hope Bennett Teacher of the Year Jamie Lyda Distinguished Teacher of Reading Leslie Williams Support Staff Person of the Year Antwoniya Douglas Regional Free Throw Winner Xavier Barrows Spelling Bee Winner Special Olympics Spirit Award Athlete of the Year-Special Olympics Emily Schaller School Winner of Health and Wellness Grant Purpose of the Report is extremely proud of the many accomplishments made during the school year. Each year the staff at LVES, in conjunction with the School Improvement Council, prepares a report for the community highlighting student achievement, innovative programs, student and teacher accomplishments and performance goals for the next school year. LVES continues to improve curriculum and instruction in the classroom through on-going staff development, analysis of data, differentiated instruction, increased rigor, and by the use of technology to enhance learning. SUBJECT % READY ENGLISH 18% MATHEMATICS 26% SC PASS The SC PASS was given to students in grades fourth and fifth grades in Spring The students were assessed in Science and Social Studies.
