4 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL Congratulations! We have achieved our pledged goal of $76,000. We have already collected over $50,000- we need another $25,000 before the end of December. Please do your best to be faithful to your pledge. If you can pay it off completely now consider doing so. If you have not made a pledge to this year s Annual Catholic Appeal please think of doing so today. Call the parish office for more information. GUADALUPE FUNDRAISER The Guadalupe committee will host a food and dessert fundraiser on Sunday, October 27 after the 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. masses in the school gym. All monies will be used to help cover the costs on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe December 12. It will also be our welcome back home party for Fr Lucas. NEW PARISH OFFICE HOURS In an effort to offer greater convenience we are beginning new parish offer hours next week. The office will be open to assist with parish registration, baptism information, offer sacrament certificates and Mass cards. MONDAY - FRIDAY 9AM TO 9PM SATURDAY 1PM TO 7 P.M. SUNDAY 9AM TO 3PM. *NEW MASS IN BENGALI* Our first mass in Bengali will take place on Sunday, October 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel. Confessions will be heard from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the chapel. Fr Nirmal Costa our new parochial vicar will celebrate the mass. Following the mass there will be refreshments in Heafey Hall. The Bangladeshi and Indian community invite all those who speak Bengali to attend this mass. SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION Young people from our parish will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m. Bishop Octavio Cisneros will be the celebrant. Please keep our young people in your prayers as they prepare to receive this sacrament. S P A N I S H CHARISMATIC CONCERT Join us for a day of prayer, music and great preaching! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M. (IN THE CHAPEL) Tickets are available after the masses $10 donation we will also have food in Heafey hall. Fr Lucas will preach and Elias Tavares and his group will play and sing. PARISH MINISTERS Your new schedules have been mailed to your home. If you did not receive your new schedule please stop by the parish office or call If you cannot make an assignment please find a replacement. ADULT SACRAMENTS We welcome adults 18 and over who are in need of receiving their sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) to our parish! The process is called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It s a weekly preparation program that will assist you in your faith formation and prepare you for the sacraments to be received at the Easter Vigil. There are some requirements necessary before entering this program. We will offer two information sessions which will answer all your questions! The sessions will take place THIS Sunday, October 6 after the 10 a.m. mass (English) and after the 11:30 a.m. mass (Spanish) in the faith formation office (Judge St) For more information, contact Sr Lucy or Dennis Mantilla at CALLING ALL ROSARIANS! THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10TH Living Rosary in the Chapel at 1:30pm then refreshments and raffle in Heafey Hall. Donations for raffle will be greatly appreciated. All women of the parish are invited. PARISH FAIR Join us next SUNDAY OCTOBER 14, after the masses in the school gym next Sunday! Leaders of parish groups and ministries will be present at different tables to promote and ask you to consider becoming involved in the daily life of St. Bart s. Free refreshments for all! 5 CAMPAÑA CATOLICA ANUAL Felicidades! Hemos cumplido con la promesa de la meta de $76,000. Hemos colectado más de $50,000 necesitamos otros $25,000 antes del final de diciembre. RECAUDACION DE FONDOS PARA GUADALUPE El Comité Guadalupano serán los anfitriones de comida y postres el día 27 de octubre después de la misas de las 10 AM, 11:30 AM y 1:00 PM en el gimnasio de la escuela. Todos los fondos serán para ayudar a cubrir los gastos de la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe el 12 de diciembre. También será nuestra fiesta de bienvenida para el Padre Lucas. HORARIO NUEVO DE LA OFICINA PARROQUIAL En el esfuerzo de mayor conveniencia estamos comenzando un horario Nuevo para la oficina parroquial la próxima semana. La oficina estará abierta para asistirles con el registro a la parroquia, información para los bautizos, certificados de los sacramentos y ofrecer misas. LUNES A VIERNES 9 AM - 9 PM SÁBADO 1 PM - 7 PM DOMINGO 9 AM - 3 PM *MISA NUEVA EN BENGALI* Nuestra primera misa en Bengali tendra lugar el domingo, 13 de Octubre a las 5:30 PM en la Capilla. Habran confesiones desde las 4:30 p.m. hasta las 5:30p.m. en la Capilla. Padre Nirmal Costa nuestro vicario parroquial nuevo celebrara la misa. Despues de la misa habran refrescos en Heafey Hall. La Comunidad Bangladeshi y India les invita a todos que hablan esta idioma participen en esta misa. SACRAMENTO DE CONFIRMACION Los jóvenes de nuestra parroquia recibirán el Sacramento de la Confirmación el sábado, 19 de octubre a las 11AM. El Obispo Octavio Cisneros será el celebrante. Favor de mantenernos en sus oraciones mientras se preparan para recibir este sacramento. GRAN CONCIERTO CARISMATICOS Únase con nosotros por un día de oración, música y maravillosas predicaciones! El Padre Lucas predicara y Elías Tavares y su grupo tocaran y cantaran. MINISTROS PARROQUIALES Sus horarios nuevos han sido enviados por correo. Si no ha recibido su horario nuevo favor de recoger uno de la oficina parroquial o llame al Si no pueden cumplir con alguna asignación favor de buscar quien los pueda reemplazar. SACRAMENTOS PARA ADULTOS Invitamos a los adultos de 18 años o más quienes están necesitando recibir los sacramentos de iniciación (Bautizo, Eucaristía y Confirmación) en nuestra parroquia! El proceso se llama Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos (RICA). Es un programa semanal que los prepara en la formación en la fe y los prepara para los sacramentos que se recibían en la Vigilia Pascual. Hay algunos requisitos necesarios antes de participar en este programa. Estaremos ofreciendo dos sesiones informativas durante las cuales le contestamos todas sus preguntas! Las sesiones tendrán lugar ESTE Domingo, 6 de Octubre después de la misa de las 10 AM (ingles) y después de la misa de las 11:30 AM (español) en la Oficina de Formación en la Fe (Calle Judge). Los Dirigentes de los diferentes grupos y ministerios estarán presentes en diferentes mesas ofreciéndole a pensar ser parte de algún grupo o ministerio en la vida diaria de San Bartolomé.
