4 Week of May 21, 2017 Page Three El Rincón de la Esperanza Declaración de la Parroquia de Santa Cruz-Inmaculado Corazón de María ante las amenazas y el temor que experimentan inmigrantes a raíz de su estatus migratorio: La comunidad de Santa Cruz-Inmaculado Corazón de María somos una comunidad de fe compuesta mayormente de inmigrantes e hijos e hijas de inmigrantes. Creemos que todo ser humano comparte una sola ciudadanía; la de ser ciudadanos de esta tierra que Dios nos ha dado y que todos somos llamados a ser ciudadanos del Reino de Dios. Creemos que todos quienes radicamos en los Estados Unidos de América, cualquier sea su estatus migratorio, ha sido creado a imagen y semejanza de Dios y merece ante todo el respeto implícito por esta creencia; creencia que forma parte del corazón de nuestra fe Católica y Cristiana. El Papa Francisco ha declarado que somos una comunidad que tiene una madre y que Jesús nos la dio a nosotros, y una comunidad con una madre debe sentirse segura. Compartimos el sentir del arzobispo José Gómez quien en nombre de los Obispos de los Estados Unidos dijo que el mensaje del Papa es importante para recordarnos que todos somos hijos de Dios. Como la Santísima Madre de Cristo, la Iglesia siempre estará con ellos, dijo el arzobispo refiriéndose a quienes más carecen de seguridad. La comunidad parroquial de Santa Cruz-Inmaculado Corazón de María del Barrio de las Empacadoras renueva su compromiso a estar en solidaridad con todos y todas quienes viven en el temor a raíz de su estatus de como indocumentados y nos mantendremos firmes al lado de estas personas para acompañarles y apoyarles. Todos tenemos los siguientes derechos ante de ICE (Inmigración): No abrir la puerta de su casa Pedirle a ICE que le muestre una orden firmada por un juez por debajo de la puerta (la orden tiene que tener su nombre y dirección correcta) No dejar a ICE entrar a su hogar si no tiene dicha orden Permanecer en silencio y no responder a preguntas No firmar nada Tener la oportunidad de hablar con un abogado/a Remember that we all have rights! We all have these rights when faced with ICE (Immigration): To not open the door of your house. To ask ICE to show you a court order SIGNED BY A JUD- GE, through a window, or to slip under the door (the order should have your name and correct address) To not allow ICE to enter your house if they do not have such an order To remain silent and not respond to questions. To not sign anything To have the opportunity to speak with a lawyer.
