Students are not permitted to remain on any school premises once they have completed their exams. 2 I. ENGLISH LANGUAGE: 9 TH GRADE EFL STUDY GUIDE- ERICA THIRD TERM EXAM 2015 In preparation for the 3rd term examination students should study all class notes, journals and discussions. They should also review the 2014 Coursebook, Workbook and Grammar material we have studied so far. This year's exam will have the following format: SECTION ONE : VOCABULARY Students will be tested on Lists 1-10 of vocabulary (about 150 words). Vocabulary is necessary to meet the required level of writing required for IGCSE exams. 100 marks are available. SECTION TWO: READING PASSAGE Read carefully Passage A, in the Reading Booklet Insert and then answer the question that follows it. SECTION THREE : COMPOSITION: 5 Paragraph Essay. Use original ideas, a topic will be provided. Students are taught to write a 5 paragraph essay to practice the organizational skills needed for the IGCSE exams. Students should write a minimum of 500 words Students will be graded on content, level of writing (vocabulary and structure), usage of transitions within paragraphs and transitions between paragraphs, and organization/ease of flow. 100 marks are available.
