El horario para los exámenes de 12 o es el siguiente TIME 7:15 8:15 MONDAY 25 HOMEROOM/ TUESDAY 26 HOMEROOM/ WEDNESDAY 27 HOMEROOM/ THURSDAY 28 HOMEROOM/ 8:15 10:15 MATHS SPANISH/SSL ENGLISH LANGUAGE 10:15 10:30 10:30 10:45 RECESS RECESS RECESS RECESS 10:45 12:45 ENGLISH LITERATURE BIOLOGY CHEMISTRY PHYSICS During this period, classes will begin as usual at 7:30 a.m. and will end at 12:45 p.m. Students must go home once this schedule is completed. Students are not permitted to remain in areas around the school after they have completed their exams. 2 I. ENGLISH LANGUAGE: 12 th GRADE English All Groups 1, 2, 3 Since the Oxford School implements Cambridge Examinations our 1st term exam will be based upon AS Level of Passage for Comment format. It is vital for 12th grade English Language students to gain experience in this formal assessment. For this year's 1st term exam 12th grade students should review and study all of Unit 1 from our new textbook, Cambridge International AS and A Level English Language (2014), as well as reflecting upon previous class notes, discussions and past examinations guidelines. Section 1 of your test will be about commenting: Part A: Comment on the ways in which language and style are used.. [15] Below are points that will assist you in preparation: Read the question carefully, comment only on the aspects required in the question. Remember to identify distinguishing features of the texts, relate them to the function and context of the writing, and organize information in their answers Always comment on aspects such as vocabulary, figurative language (e.g. use of metaphor and simile), word ordering and sentence structure, formality/informality of tone, and the communication of attitudes, bias or prejudice, structure Write for a specific purpose and/or audience using appropriate vocabulary, tone, and style. Part B. Write a section (between words) of this article. Base your answer closely on the features of the writing in the original extract. [10] Section 2 of your exam is Imaginative Writing(narrative/descriptive) You should write between words. Choose 1 of the following.[25] Questions require a narrative or descriptive piece of continuous writing of words (or two shorter linked pieces of words). Candidates are required to show that they can write imaginatively, using language to create deliberate effects, e.g. in conveying a mood or describing a character. Candidates are advised to spend approximately 15 minutes reading the whole paper before they begin writing. Dictionaries may not be used. 2
