What other thoughts come to your mind when you think of the difficulties faced by the people of our world? This is the desert of today. John the Baptist used the words of the prophet Isaiah of the Old Testament to describe his sense of purpose. We light the third candle on the Advent wreath today, proclaiming this a Sunday of Joy. Take time to reflect: Who do you know who brings joy to the desert of our world? How can you take your part in making straight the way of the Lord?

No se olviden de compartir su tiempo, talentos, y recursos a nuestra parroquia! Preparations for the Christmas season remind us how much we all want to be generous. We all want to give good gifts to one another. Yet, often when it comes to giving back to God our response is, Not yet! We put off sharing our time, talent and treasure for another day. We say we will give when we have more time or more money. Yet, none of us knows when God will come and ask for an accounting of how we used the gifts entrusted to our care. The start of Advent reminds us not to put off our stewardship. There are many opportunities available in our parish to give of your time, talent, and treasure. Las preparaciones de Navidad nos recuerdan a todos lo mucho que deseamos ser generosos. Todos queremos dar y recibir buenos regalos. Sin embargo cuando se trata de dar a Dios, nuestra respuesta es Todavia no! Siempre estamos esperando para dar de nuestro talento, nuestro tiempo y nuestras riquezas para otro dia. Decimos que vamos a dar cuando tengamos mas tiempo o mas dinero. Sin, embargo ninguno de nostros sabemos cuando Dios nos va a pedir cuentas de como usamos nuestros dones que fueron puestos a nuestro cuidado. El comienzo de Adviento nos recuerda de poner en practica nuestra co-responsabilidad. Hay muchas oportunidades disponibles en nuestra parroquia para compartir nuestro tiempo, talento y nuestro tesoros.
