The second collection this weekend is for Christmas Flowers. The second collection next week is the Missionary Cooperative Appeal. Catholic Appeal Thank you to all parishioners who made pledges to this year s Catholic Appeal. Our parish has been assessed for $34,495. As of November 19th reports indicate you have pledged $49,539 and paid $30,700 of that amount. If you have not already done so, please send in your pledge because we will be responsible for the difference between our assessment and the amount paid. I am happy to announce that our annual Mission Appeal is next weekend (Dec. 13 th and 14 th ). Our Missionary this year is Sister Lisa Marie Valentini, MSC, a Missionary Sister of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, who has been serving as a missionary in various countries for more than 30 years and who presently takes several groups of young people each year on Mission Immersion Experiences. Sister Lisa lived in the Dominican Republic from 2000 until 2009 and, over the past few years, several groups of young people from our own Archdiocese have gone on mission with her. This year, Sister Lisa has been chosen by our Mission Office to come to share some of her stories with us. By supporting the Missionary work of our Church, we are able to actively participate in spreading the Good News of Jesus coming into our world in order to save us. Sister Lisa will speak to us on behalf of her MSC Congregation, who has Sisters serving Our Lord and His people in 22 countries throughout the world. As Catholic Christians we are constantly called to spread the Good News to the ends of the earth. We will also have the opportunity and the blessing of participating in the Sisters service to the poorest of the poor by giving generously in the 2 nd collection. Thank you. 5 Monday, December 8 th is the Immaculate Conception of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be celebrated at 9 am and at 5:30 pm in English and at 7:00 pm in Spanish.
