2 There are 2 points you can receive in a Judo fight. The idea of judo is: 1. To throw your opponent to the floor on his back. 2. To hold him on the floor on his back Ippon: Ippon is one full point. When you win Ippon, you win the fight. You win an ippon when: KNOCK your opponent so he LANDS hard on their BACK HOLD your opponent for 25 seconds your opponent GIVES UP There is also a point called yuko. It is worth less than ippon. You get a yuko when: - Make your opponent FALL to the GROUND on his SIDE or a part of his back. - HOLD your opponent for less than 25 seconds.

3 Where is a Judo match? Judo is done on a mat. How many people are in a fight? The fight is between two people. How big is the mat? The mat is 8 to 10 meters on each side. The danger area or the outer meter is red. You can fight in that area but only for a few seconds. If you stay a long time, you receive a penalty. There is a safety area. It is 3 meters. In this part, a player can be thrown but the other person must be in the original square. Who scores the match? A referee watches and scores the match. How can you win? 4 UN POCO DE HISTORIA El Judo es un arte marcial que nació en Japón, y es conocido alrededor del mundo como deporte olímpico. El Judo se creó en 1882 por la combinación del jujitsu, una forma de lucha, con una disciplina mental. Del siglo XII al XIX Japón estaba dirigido por los Samurai, una clase de soldados profesionales. Esto ayudó a que diferentes artes marciales (artes para la guerra) se desarrollaran.
