1 Safety Training Service Safety Orientation Important Topics Instructor s Guide No one has to work in conditions that are dangerous to their health and safety. Workers should always speak to their supervisor if there s something they don t understand. For outside work, wear work boots, keep long hair tied back, and follow the company s guidelines on jewelry. Never use any electrical tools near water. Before working around any power source, make sure you understand the company s lockout/tag out program and your responsibilities. Always use the PPE required for each chemical, it will be spelled out in the safety data sheet or SDS for that chemical.

If they have any answers incorrect, this gives you an excellent opportunity to discuss the topic in further detail. When you are finished everyone should know the correct answers. T 1) The written safety plan is designed to make sure that everyone is aware of the rules and regulations. F 2) If there s something you don t understand you may guess or ask a coworker. (Always talk to your supervisor if there s something you don t understand.) T 3) All equipment that is deemed unworkable should be locked, tagged and removed from service. F 4) You may work around an energy source if you re careful. (OSHA requires that you physically lockout or tag out any energy source before you work around it.) F 5) Before starting a job you only have to look for spills or wet surfaces. (Before starting any job, you should look over the job site for poor lighting, spills/wet surfaces, equipment in the working space, obstructed views, items in walkways, and uneven flooring) F 6) It is safe to wear loose fitting clothing and jewelry to work. (It is not safe to wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry, it could could get caught in machinery.) F 7) Any employee may handle chemicals as long as they have read the chemical label. (Only trained employees are allowed to handle chemicals.) T 8) You should always tell a supervisor if you notice any damaged electrical cords, plugs, switches or tools. T 9) The required PPE will be spelled out in the safety data sheet or SDS for that chemical. F 10) It is safe to use a chair or a table to stand on if you need more height. (Never use any object other than a ladder or stepladder to gain extra height.)

(Antes de empezar a trabajar debe buscar iluminación deficiente, derrames o superficies mojadas, equipo en el área de trabajo, vistas obstruidos, pisos irregulares, y objetos en el camino.) 6) Las joyas y la ropa no ajustada se puede usar para trabajar ya que es segura. (Usar ropa suelta o joyas no es seguro ya que se podrían quedar atascados en los equipos.) F 7) Cualquier persona puede utilizar productos químicos siempre y cuando lea las instrucciones de uso. (Solamente los empleados entrenados y autorizados pueden utilizar productos químicos.) C 8) Debe Informar a un supervisor si nota que algún cable, herramienta, botón, o enchufe está dañado. C 9) El EPP requerido para el uso de cada producto químico está escrito en la SDS u hoja de seguridad del producto químico. F 10) Es seguro usar una silla o mesa para alcanzar una altura más alta. (Solamente se deben usar escaleras para alcanzar alturas más altas.)
