SIODOV tells you the order that PRONOUNS need to go in relation to the verb
SIODOV S: subject pronoun (yo, tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, vosotros, ellos, ellas, ustedes) IO: indirect object pronoun. The IO recieves the direct object. (me, te, le/se, nos, les/se) DO: direct object pronoun. The DO receives the action of the verb. (things= lo, la, los, las. people = me, te, le, nos, les) V: verb, conjugated to the subject
SIODOV Any of the following sentences are okay, because the PRONOUNS match SIODOV. Yo doy el libro a Carlos. S V The DO & IO are stated, not in pronoun form Yo le doy el libro. S IO V The DO is stated. Le because Carlos is a person. Yo lo doy a Carlos. S DO V The IO is stated. Lo because book is masculine & singular. Yo se lo doy. S IO DO V All pronouns, all in the right order. Remember: you can t le - lo in Spanish, so you change le to se
