CONCEPTUALIZACION: FUTURE 1 FORM: Look at these sentences: I am going to buy some new shoes tomorrow He is going to be rich one day Are they going to pass the exam? We form this future tense with the verb to be ( am, is, are ) + going to + verb POSITIVE:
We use a long form I am going to eat You / We / They are going to eat He / She / It is going to eat Or a short form I m going to eat You re / we re / they re going to eat He s / she s / it s going to eat He s going to win You are going to study hard this year. NEGATIVE: We make the verb to be negative, and then add going to + verb I am not going to eat You / We / They are not going to eat He / She / It is not going to eat There are two short forms: I m not going to eat You re / we re / they re not going to eat He s / she s / it s not going to eat Or He / she / it You / we / they isn t going to eat aren t going to eat NOTE: There is only one short form for first person singular I. We say: I m not going to eat QUESTIONS:
To make a question, we put the verb to be before the subject. Am I going to eat? Is He / she / it going to eat? Are You / we / they going to eat? When we talk about more than one thing in the future, it is not necessary to repeat be going to. I m going to have a shower and go to bed She s to wake up early and run in the park Look at these sentences. An orange is sweeter than a potato. A train is faster than a bus. I think it s going to snow. I m hungry. I m going to eat some biscuits Note: We don t often use going to go or going to come.instead we use the present continuous of go or come. I m going to Paris next week He s coming to see me on Tuesday. FUTURE 2 FORM Look at these sentences I ll see you next week The sun will rise at 6.30 tomorrow Will the train arrive at 3.30 or 4.00 o clock? These verbs are in the future simple.
