2 Page 2 SECTION A: TRANSLATION Translate this text into Spanish Last January Raúl was feeling unwell and the doctor warned him that if he didn't lose weight he would be running the risk of having diabetes or a heart attack. For many years, Raúl had been addicted to hamburgers and pizzas, and he hoped that he would be able to change his eating habits during the summer. He said to his friends: "If I had known I was going to develop such a high risk of having these illnesses, I would not have gained so much weight in the last year! This is such a great opportunity for me to put into practice my cooking skills as I may be able to make healthier pizzas and hamburgers with a bit of imagination. I've just bought a new book about healthy eating and it says that if I use ingredients such as vegetables, I will still be able to eat my pizzas and hamburgers; although I don't think they will be so tasty!" When Raúl finally started his diet, a nutritionist advised him to eat smaller portions and to cook with less salt and fat. Although it is early days yet, Raúl is very optimistic about his chances for losing weight in the near future. GLOSSARY to lose weight: bajar de peso to run the risk of: correr el riesgo de to be addicted to: ser adicto a eating habits: hábitos alimentarios less fat: menor cantidad de grasas it is early days yet: es muy pronto para saberlo
