Use TPR to introduce hace planes, hace maletas, se despiden. 2. Review un tigre, el cocodrilo, vive, gato. 3. Listen to the podcast. This story asks students to answer questions after each statement. Then the whole story is told at the end. A script of the podcast follows the Teacher Pages, and the text of the story with English translation is on the last page of this Lesson Plan. 4. Retell the story, or ask questions based on the story. 5. Have students read the story together or in groups. Students may substitute other vocabulary words as they retell the story. 6. 4 : Technology Enhanced Elementary Spanish Program TEACHER PAGE Before the podcast: Introduce the new vocabulary to students. Some words may be review from previous lessons. Have students act out the target vocabulary words whenever possible. Help them understand the time(s) used in the stories by using a clock and setting the time according to the narrative of the stories. During the podcast: Be sure to check for student understanding of the story. Pause as needed and ask student (s) to explain what is happening. Clarify any misunderstandings using the script and translation provided for each story following the Teacher Pages. After the podcast: Use the story script provided on the first page of the Student Pages to reread the story, or have students act out the story. Suggestions: Use the Spanish vocabulary for days of the week, and months of the year, regularly in class. Add the Spanish words to your class calendar.
