1 UNIDAD 17: LAS PREPOSICIONES Las preposiciones son las palabras que se ponen delante del complemento circunstancial. Como hay diferentes complementos, también tenemos distintos tipos de preposiciones. Aquí vamos a ver las básicas, como siempre. Hay muchas más, pero si te aprendes todo lo de esta unidad, es suficiente. PREPOSICIONES DE TIEMPO Responden a la pregunta when? IN con los años in 2005 con los meses in April con las estaciones in winter in the morning con algunas partes del día in the afternoon in the evening ON con los días de la semana con fechas concretas con día + parte del día con días festivos sueltos on Wednesday on 15th April on Friday morning on Christmas Day AT con las horas del reloj con las horas de las comidas con períodos de más de dos días con algunas partes del día con expresiones concretas at three o clock at lunch at the weekend at Christmas at night at midday / noon at dawn at that time at the moment Excepciones: Estas preposiciones no se utilizan delante de palabras como: * this I leave school this year. * last. She was in Paris last month. * next.the plane leaves next day. * every. He goes to the beach every summer. * tomorrow The football match is tomorrow morning. * yesterday. 2 A.- COMPLETA CON UNA PREPOSICIÓN CUANDO SEA POSIBLE I m going to the cinema six o clock tomorrow morning. 3.- I hate getting up the morning Mary s birthday is August. 3 PREPOSICIONES DE LUGAR Responden a la pregunta where? Estas preposiciones indican la posición de algo o alguien y a veces es difícil saber cuál utilizar. Vamos a verlas por separado: IN cuando algo nos rodea por todos los lados con ciudades con países con los nombres de las calles I have it in the pocket She is in the garden I live in Albacete I m in Spain I live in Ancha Street ON con superficies con cosas que están en una línea I have it on the wall The poster is on the door I live on the first floor Bath is on the River Avon AT cuando hablamos de un punto en el espacio con acontecimientos con damos la dirección completa There s someone at the door She s at the bus stop See you at the match I live at 10 Gran Vía Street FROM indica origen She comes from England Cuando sólo va la calle se pone in, pero si pones el número, utilizamos at. Con edificios utilizamos in cuando no nos interesa su función, sino su tamaño: There are 200 seats in the cinema. Utilizamos at cuando nos referimos a la actividad que se realiza en ese edificio: I was at the cinema last night (viendo una película) Algunas frases comunes: IN ON AT in the country in prison in hospital in the sky in the middle in the photo/picture in a book/newspaper on the platform on the farm on page 28 on the island on the screen on the beach on the right/left at the station/airport at home at work at school at the seaside at the top/bottom at the end 60
