1 Ford Falcon Newsletter June Issue 2016 Edition Joanne M. LaRivee, Principal Elizabeth Crowley-Burns, Program Specialist Message from the Principal By Joanne M. LaRivee It is hard to believe that another school year is winding to a close. This month is packed with activities, field trips, and events to put closure on the academic year and all the wonderful work students and teachers did all year. Now that we have wrapped up PARCC/MCAS, we are definitely ready to change gears and get each student off campus for some fun and enriching experiences. As I wrap up the year here as Ford School principal, it continues to be my pleasure to serve the children and families of Ford School. It has been exciting to watch your children learn and grow this year. I am so proud of all the hard work they do each and every day, and of the many talents and accolades that come with it. I wish each family a very safe and restful summer vacation. I look forward to seeing students back at school when the summer comes to an end to kick off another fantastic year of opportunities for creative and critical thinking! Have a safe and happy summer!! Calling All Ford School Students. Create a Character Trait Poster for the Ford School! All Ford School students can create a poster that shows the character trait you most enjoyed learning about during the school year. Then enter the Poster Contest to win a cupcake design party with other winners of the contest! The deadline to submit posters is June 6 th. Grade 2 Field Trip to Appleton Farm Grade 4 will travel to Boston to visit the Museum of Science on June 1 st. The students will be able to visit exhibits at the museum to strengthen their knowledge of the world around them. Grade 2 will visit Appleton Farm in Ipswich on Wednesday, June 22 nd.
2 Ford School Spring Concert There will be a spring concert on Friday, June 10 9:15 AM. Students from grades 1 and 3 will perform in the concert. Parents of students in grades 1 and 3 and parents of chorus, band and string students are invited to attend this concert to see their children. Grade 5 Promotion Ceremony The promotion ceremony for students in grade 5 at the Ford School will take place on Friday, June 24 th at 9:00 AM in the school gym. Parents of 5 th grade students are invited to attend the celebration. Look at what s happening at Ford School in June June 1 Grade 4 to MOS June 2 Student of the month for May June 7 Character Ed Poster Contest Boston Tea Party Ship Grade 3 students will visit the Boston Tea Party Ship on Tuesday, June 21 st. June 8 Grade 5 Track and Field Day June 9 Grade 1 to Lynn Museum June 10 Spring Concert- Grades 1 & 3 June 13 Grade 3 to Lynn Museum June 14 Grade 3 to Lynn Museum Grade 5 to Salem Willows Navigator s Baseball Game Grade 5 students have the opportunity to watch the Navigator s play baseball on Wednesday, June 15 th. They will have a hot dog lunch and enjoy the day at the field. LaRivee Es difícil de creer que otro año escolar está llegando a su fin. Este mes está lleno de actividades, excursiones y eventos para poner el cierre en el año académico y todos los estudiantes y profesores han trabajo maravillosamente todo el año. Ahora que hemos envuelto PARCC / MCAS, definitivamente estamos listos para cambiar de marcha y obtener cada estudiante fuera de la escuela para la diversión y las experiencias enriquecedoras.como ya terminar el año aquí como director de la Escuela Ford, sigue siendo un placer servir a los niños y las familias de la Escuela Ford. Ha sido emocionante ver a sus hijos aprender y crecer este año. Estoy muy orgullosa de todo el duro trabajo que hacen todos los días, y de los muchos talentos y reconocimientos. Deseo que cada familia tenga unas vacaciones de verano muy seguro y tranquilo. Estoy deseando ver a los estudiantes de nuevo en la escuela cuando el verano llega a su fin para dar inicio a un año más fantástico de oportunidades para el pensamiento creativo y crítico! Llamando a todos los estudiantes de la escuela Ford... Crea un rasgo del carácter para la Escuela Ford!Todos los estudiantes de la Escuela Ford pueden crear un cartel que muestra el rasgo de carácter que más le ha gustado aprendiendo acerca durante el año escolar. 6 Concierto Primavera de la Escuela Ford Habrá un concierto de primavera el Viernes de Junio el 10 a las 9:15 AM. Los estudiantes de los grados 1 y 3 se presentarán en el concierto. Los padres de los estudiantes en los grados 1 y 3 y los padres de los estudiantes de coro, banda y de cadena están invitados a asistir a este concierto para ver a sus hijos. Grado 5 Ceremonia de Promoción La ceremonia de graduación para los estudiantes en el grado 5 de la Escuela Ford se llevará a cabo el Viernes, 24 de Junio a las 9:00 am en el gimnasio de la escuela. Los padres de los estudiantes de 5 grado están invitados a asistir a la celebración. Mira lo que está pasando en la Escuela Ford en Junio...
