4 From the Pastor s Desk With Palm Sunday we begin the most sacred time of the year. The liturgies during Holy Week put us in contact with Jesus saving work. We are invited to ponder the meaning of his life, death, and resurrection in our own lives and in the life of the world. This is the stuff of Christian prayer and contemplation. As we move through Holy Week and into the Easter season, things will begin to pick up at the parish. Fast approaching are several key events for our parish family. Please be sure to mark these dates on your calendars! 1.) The Spring Fest will be held in the school gym on Saturday, April ) BREAD s Nehemiah Action will take place at the Ohio State fairgrounds on Monday, May 4. 3). The Fiesta de Mayo will be at Our Lady of Victory Church on Friday, May 8. More details will be made available in future bulletins about these events. We will have Adoration on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (March 30 through April 1) from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please enter through the door off of Dover Road. The Living Stations of the Cross will be held this Friday, April 3, at 12:00 p.m. We will begin in the convent parking lot and make our way to the school gym. Parish News The Holy Thursday Supper will be held in the church basement from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. All are welcome to join us! There is no charge, but a freewill offering will help offset the expense. (This event is bilingual.) Mount Carmel East is looking for commissioned Eucharistic Ministers to bring Holy Communion to patients. This is a unique opportunity to serve those who are unable to attend Mass due to a hospitalization. If you are able to serve in this way, please contact the parish office. (This event is in English.) Good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence. Fasting is for all who are 18 years old to 59 years old. A day of fasting means that one meal should be greater than your two other meals combined. Abstinence is for all who are more than 13 years old. No meat should be consumed on days of abstinence. 5 Spring Fest is one month away! Have you picked up some extra raffle tickets to sell? Make sure to visit the Spring Fest table in the vestibule after Mass for more details. (This event is bilingual.) Registration for Parish School of Religion (PSR) and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) has begun. We ask that all first through eighth graders of the parish who do not attend a Catholic school participate in PSR.
