2 Page 2 February 2018 Angelus Plaza To Host African American Celebration On Friday, February 23 rd, The Angelus Plaza Senior Activity Center, will present its annual African American Heritage Celebration. Angelus Plaza is located at 255 South Hill Street in Downtown L.A. This festive event is set for 2:00 PM in the fourth floor auditorium. Ellen Cooper, a seasoned vocalist, composer and producer, will present a variety of gifted artists who will explore timeless traditions through song, dance and music. Ms. Cooper s vast range is enhanced by her unique ability to embrace several genres, including Jazz, R&B, Gospel and Blues. In recent years, she has toured China with Robert Turner, performed at the World Stage in Leimert Park and at several local churches, popular venues and festivals. Explore the culture of an enduring people, including their countless contributions to the arts, science, medicine, politics, history and education. African artifacts, fabric and insightful posters, will also be displayed. Admission is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
