Your child should have an information sheet and order form for the Little Caesar s Pizza Kit fundraiser. We only have one more week until the orders are due! As in past years, we will honor of our veterans with our annual Veteran's Day Bulletin Board. Your student's teacher has been given a blue sheet with two stars printed on it. Each star is labeled, one with a box for your veteran's name and one with a box for the branch of service that they served or are currently serving in. Please fill it out. They look better if you use pen, marker or crayon. DO NOT CUT IT OUT! We will do that as we assemble our board. Then simply return it either to your teacher or the office. For additional stars, contact the office. Deadline for the stars is Monday, November 10th.

2 Halloween Costumes This Friday we are allowing students to wear Halloween costumes and jeans with some limitations. Please read the following information and guidelines: 1. Faces must be recognizable if using face paint. 2. Masks must be off of the face at all times. 3. A small amount of blood is allowed (But don't scare the little ones!) 4. No toy (or real) weapons, guns, swords or knives. 5. Costumes may not be in violation of the SLCSD dress code, which does not allow the following: _ Any sleeveless shirt. - Clothing that is low enough to reveal a student s underwear. - Clothing advertising drugs, alcohol, tobacco, acts of violence or lawlessness. - Clothing associated with gangs, illicit drugs, or illegal substances. - Clothing with offensive and/or vulgar language and/or designs. - Clothing which calls attention to the body, including leggings (by themselves) sheer clothing or skin tight clothing. - Hats, caps, hoodies up, and sunglasses worn in the building. - Short shorts, running shorts, or miniskirts. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING WHITTIER! A big thank you to everyone who turned in Box Tops! Whittier students and staff collected over 7000 Box Top points for our school! Let's keep collecting. Please place Box Tops and other collection items in a plastic bag clearly labeled with your first and last name, teacher's name and room number or attach them to the Box Top flyer attached. WINTER COAT EXCHANGE Have your kids outgrown their winter gear? Donate your gently used coats, hats, gloves and snow boots to the office anytime in October. A Winter Coat and Gear Exchange will be held in November watch for more information!
