2 Both are irregular verbs Both mean to be Ser is used in enduring situations: 1. Identify someone: I am Pedro. Soy Pedro 2. Professions. He is a dentist. Él es dentista. 3. Personality Traits: My sister is nice. Mi hermana es amable. 4. Bodily characteristics: My brother is tall. Mi hermano es alto. 5. Nationality: Mary is French. Mary es Francesa. 6. Possession: The car is Jon s. El coche es de Juan. 7. Time: It is ten o clock. Son las diez. 8. Impersonal expressions: It is very important. Es my importante. Estar is used in short-term term situations: 1. Location: My friends are at the beach. Mis amigos están en la playa. 2. Mood, emotions, and physical condition: I am tired. Estoy cansado. 3.
