The Word today is inviting us to listen to a call to conversion, which God has done on us. A great mistake we should not do is not to accept our condition of sinners. The Israelites, in the First Reading, would not admit their faults: God called them a stubborn people. To listen means to obey; to obey is to accept God`s will. Many times we do not accept God`s will because we do not accept ourselves. We are not willing, many times, to face our sins. If we accept ourselves as we are, (as God does) then we will enjoy God`s graces and mercies: Christ came for the sick not for those who are not in need of a doctor. (Mk2:17). Pride is the sin that does not allow us to experience the mercy of God in fullness. Consequently, we need to be very careful about who talks to us and who underlines our sins: maybe he or she is a prophet! God provide always people who are willing to tell us the truth in order to take us out form our sins. The true tragedy happens when we do not listen to them to the prophets the Lord sends us. Therefore, let us not hide our weaknesses, our faults or shortcomings. The Lord allows them to keep us humble, as St. Paul says in the Second Reading: I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2Cor 12). We do not know exactly what St. Paul`s weakness was (a thorn in the flesh ) but Christ`s power is in us precisely when we are weak when we lean on him. In this way, Christ will be manifested to everybody around us for the greater glory of God. May she rest in peace

4 Page 4 Fourteenth Sunday Ordinary Time July 3, 2016 Decimocuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario El Señor siempre nos busca constantemente porque nos amas. La Palabra de hoy nos invita a escuchar el llamado a conversión que Dios hace con nosotros. El error más grande que el hombre pueda hacer es de no aceptar su situación de pecador. Los Israelitas, en la primera lectura, no querían admitir sus culpas: Dios los llama pueblo de testarudos y obstinados. Escuchar quiere decir obedecer. Obedecer significa aceptar la voluntad de Dios. Muchas veces no aceptamos la voluntad de Dios porque no nos aceptamos a nosotros mismos. No queremos mirar en la cara nuestros pecados. Aceptar a Dios es aceptar que somos necesitados de su misericordia, en cuanto creaturas de su amor. El orgullo hace de manera que uno no reconozca sus pecados y consecuentemente no acepte la voluntad de Dios. Entonces, tenemos que estar muy cuidado con las personas que nos acusa de nuestros pecados. A lo mejor es un hermano o una hermana que Dios nos envía por nuestra conversión. La tragedia seria rechazarlos por orgullo, y no enterarse que hubo profetas en medio de nosotros. Los profetas son los que nos anuncia el amor de Dios junto con el llamado a conversión: son como dos caras de la misma moneda. No tenemos vergüenza de nuestras debilidades: reconozcamos nuestras debilidades, nuestras faltas y nuestro orgullo. Si hacemos así, el Señor manifestará su poder en nosotros. Las debilidades (físicas, morales y espirituales) son necesarias para hacernos humildes, obedientes y dispuestos a escuchar la Palabra de Dios. No sabemos que era la debilidad de San Pablo (esta espina en la carne ) pero es precisamente cuando somos débiles que el poder de Cristo se manifiesta en nosotros y convence a los demás que Cristo vive y es amor.
