SUMMER MISSION A group of adults and young people from our parish will be going on a mission of good will to Dominican Republic in the month of July. The Mission consists of Evangelization in poor communities, service to the poor, especially the children. We are also sponsoring a house for orphans children, named the Home of Our Lady of Providence. We are in the process of collecting items such as schools supplies, food, new toys and clothing, or cash to defray the cost of the Mission. May 30, 2010 The Most Holy Trinity PRAISE TO THE CREATOR The first reading, from Proverbs, is a beautiful doxology of the glory of Christ, who existed before all of creation. Christ is the Wisdom of God spoken of in the verse: from of old I was poured forth, / at the first, before the earth (Proverbs 8:23). Christ is described in terms of preexistence, of knowledge and wisdom of God, as the Child of God in whom the Creator delights, playing on the earth and delighting in the human race. Psalm 8 continues this hymn of praise to the Creator, enumerating all the wonders of creation, and marveling at the wonderful truth that God has put humanity at the forefront of it all, making us a little less than angels, crowned with glory and honor (Psalm 8:6). MISION DE VERANO La Mision de verano se llevara a cabo, Dios mediante, en el mes de Julio del 20 al 29 en la zona de Licey, Santiago. La Mision consiste en la Evangelizacion y visitas a los lugares pobres de aquellas comunidades, especialmente los ninos. Tambien estamos ayudando el Hogar Albergue Infantil Divina Providencia en Monte Adentro y el Comedor de Ninos, ambos a cargo de las Hnas. Marianitas. Para ello estamos recolectando utencilios escolares, ropa de ninas, y comida (arroz, leche en polvo, pasta etc.).
