T H E E A S T V I E W T I M E S EASTVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NOVEMBER 2014 VOLUME 3, ISSUE 3 535 SAGE STREET LAKE GENEVA, WI FROM THE DESK OF MR. HALBESMA... Dear Eastview Families and Friends, It is truly amazing that 2014 is in its final month. I wanted to thank all of you for your commitment and support of Eastview Elementary School so far this year. It is truly a pleasure to be a part of such a great team of parents, students and staff here at Eastview. During our parent pickup time we have had a few traffic jams lately along with some unsafe traffic patterns. If you are picking up your child, the safest way to do so is to park in a parking spot, wait for your child outside of the school on the sidewalk, and then proceed back to your vehicle. This will help a lot in making sure that all involved are safe and secure. Please refer to the parking lot map on the next page that shows the flow of the traffic. Thank you very much for your help! We have had many wonderful things happening in the past month and many more to come in the future. On the day before Thanksgiving break, our Student Council hosted our Eastview Thanksgiving Feast. All 280 students and every staff member had lunch together on that day and gave thanks for all the wonderful things that we have in our lives. It was truly a sight to see and a wonderful experience to be a part of! Also in November, we had our annual special person lunch week. We had a WONDERFUL turnout of parents, grandparents, and friends who were able to have a special lunch with our students. Thank you to everyone who came and made the day of that special child in your life! Thank you also for stopping by the book fair that same week in order to buy books and encourage your child to be an awesome reader! In the coming weeks, please be on the lookout for our Winter Extracurricular Activities Brochure. Classes and activities will begin in January. Also, we look forward to our 4 th and 5 th grade band/ orchestra concert that will take place on Tuesday December 9 th and our 4 th grade holiday music concert that will take place in our gymnasium on Thursday December 18 th. This will be followed up by a two week winter break. Break begins on Monday December 22 nd and we will return to school on Monday January 5, 2015. It has been a wonderful start to the 2014-2015 school year and I wish each and every one of your families peace and happiness during this festive time of the year. As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please don t hesitate to contact me anytime. Respectfully, Drew Halbesma Like us and Follow us! @EVEagles Eastview Elementary School

T H E E A S T V I E W T I M E S EASTVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NOVEMBER 2014 VOLUME 3, ISSUE 3 535 SAGE STREET LAKE GENEVA, WI FROM THE DESK OF MR. HALBESMA... Respetuosamente, Drew Halbesma Like us and Follow us! Eastview Elementary School

Nov. 18, 2014 Dear Parents/Guardians of Eastview Fourth Graders; Our Holiday Concert will be held on December 18th this year in the Eastview gym. The program will start at 6pm sharp, and is entitled Carols of Christmas. All 4 th graders are involved, and they will be Carolers. All students should dress up nicely, and perhaps a nice touch would be wearing a scarf and/ or hat of some type. They will each be holding and singing from their own book of carols. It is important that every child participate this will be their only singing concert for the public this school year. (Next year as a 5 th grader, they will participate in a spring concert). The students have been working hard already, and are having a great time with learning some older carols too! I was so pleased with their recent all school song they sang for our Veteran s Day assembly. We have some wonderful talent here at Eastview School! Your child is to report to their regular 4 th grade classroom at 5:45pm the night of our program. Their teacher s will walk them to the gym for the program. They will also be performing on their recorders, and some others will also be playing bells. Thank you for sharing your children with me they are truly amazing. Please call or e-mail me if you have any questions. Musically Yours, Mrs. Marita Block Eastview Music Teacher 262-348-6000 ext. 6117 marita.block@badger.k12.wi.us See you at the concert Thursday, December 18 th at 6pm at Eastview School!

Musicalmente suya, Sra.
