1 Nombre: Fecha: Teacher: Oraciones Interrogativas Interrogative Sentences Expresan, en forma de pregunta, algo que se desconoce. Se escriben entre signos de interrogación (?). Something that is unknown, is expressed in the form of a question. They are written between question marks (?). Ejemplos. Estudia usted inglés? No asistes hoy a la escuela? Tiene usted mi libro? A veces usamos los pronombres interrogativos qué, cuál, quién y los adverbios interrogativos cuándo, dónde, cómo y cuánto. A veces la oración interrogativa no expresa una respuesta concreta, sino que expresa una duda. Sometimes we use the interrogative pronouns what, which, who, and the interrogative adverbs when, where, how and how much. Sometimes the interrogative sentence does not express a concrete answer, it expresses a doubt. Qué? Cuál (-es) Quién (es) Cuánto (-a,-os,-as) Cuándo? Dónde? Cómo? Por qué? What? What? or Which? Who? How much? How many? When? Where? How? Why? Qué deseas? Cuál es tu libro? Quiénes hablan español? Cuánto cuesta ese reloj? Cuándo salimos de viaje? Dónde guardas las joyas? Cómo te sientes de salud? Por qué no escribe los ejemplos? What do you wish? Which is your book? Who (plr.) speaks Spanish? How much is this watch? When do we leave? Where do you keep the jewelry? How healthy do you feel? Why don t you write the examples? Usos y Diferencias de Que y Cual Uses and Differences of Que and Cual Qué (adjetivo interrogativo) se usa en lugar de cuál antes del sustantivo para solicitar información específica de una determinada clase de objetos. Qué (interrogative adjective) is used instead of cuál, before the noun to solicit specific information from a particular class of objects. Ejemplos: Qué pelota te gusta? What is an adjective? - Me gusta todo. - I like everything. - Necesito un diccionario. - I need a dictionary. - Miro mis fotos. - I am looking at my photos. - Hago mi tarea. - I am doing my homework. - Es la palabra que califica al sustantivo. - It is a word that describes a noun. Cuál se usa en lugar de qué antes del verbo Ser. Cuál is used instead of qué before the verb Ser. Cuál es la capital de Guatemala? Cuáles son los elementos del agua? Cuál es su nacionalidad? Cuáles son sus apellidos? Which is the capital of Guatemala? What are the elements of water? What is your nationality? What are your last names? Cuando queremos identificar una cosa o persona dentro de un grupo de la misma categoría (previamente definido) usamos CUÁL/ CUÁLES (which? singular/plural). When we want to identify a thing or person within a group in the same category (previously defined) we use CUÁL/ CUÁLES (which? Singular/plural). Pag. 2
3 Ejemplos: Me das un libro? Sí, Cuál prefieres? Can you give me a book? Yes, which one do you prefer? Mira, aquellos son mis hermanos. Cuáles? Look, those are my brothers. Which ones? Cuál? Cuál? de, solicita información de un elemento de un grupo particular. de, requests information from an element of a particular group. Ejemplos: Cuál de mis blusas te gusta más? Which of my blouses do you like more? Cuál de estos (these) niños es el más inteligente? Which of these kids is the most intelligent?
