FORMAT Choose Your Learning Format -- The 2013 HR School will be offered in two formats: The traditional on-site (resident) program A live Internet Webcast -- streaming live video and audio of the school as it takes place in Madison that allows for interactive participation (also included is access to a recording of the program, available through August 31, 2013) With the on-site resident program, your fees include lodging at the Fluno Center for Executive Education, where classes will be held. GSB will reserve a room on your behalf upon receipt of your application. With the Internet Webcast (streaming or recorded program), you will have access to the streaming video presentation each day April 21-26, 2013; you will also have access to the recorded version until August 31, Please note that this registration is for one person; multiple registrants need to complete separate applications. Details of the live Internet Webcast: The exceptional networking of the Human Resource Management School is a key benefit of attending on campus. However, we realize your busy schedule may not permit you to attend at the scheduled date and time. That's why GSB is making this quality one-week school available online through a live Internet Webcast to allow busy HR professionals expanded knowledge of banking, human resource management and employee performance through a learning format that fits individual needs. The live Webcast will provide streaming video and audio over the Internet, and will allow for interactive Page 2 of 10

3 participation. It s like sitting in the classroom, from the convenience of your office. How it works: The program will be streamed live over your computer at the same time that it is held live on campus through our online platform provider, EventBuilder. If you can't watch the live streaming, the recording will be available within 24 hours of the live presentation and you'll have access to the recordings until August 31. To maintain the integrity of the program, online students will be asked to enter numeric codes occasionally throughout the program to ensure they remain actively engaged in the learning process. Recordings are restricted to individuals who register and pay the registration fee for participating in the seminar. You may still register after the live presentation and listen to the recordings only. System Requirements: In order to utilize the recording feature, you must be able to view streaming media. In addition, your computer must have the following minimum requirements: PC: High speed internet IE 7 or higher Silverlight 3 or higher, or Windows Media Player 9 or higher Mac: High speed internet G4 Processer Silverlight 3 or higher Additional Notes: Active X controls may hinder viewing of an EventCast; viewers must download/run the Active X controls as prompted Firefox is compatible with Silverlight; however, it will not allow the "seek forward" to any part of the video until the ENTIRE video is downloaded (unless the file is under 1 mb). The school has been divided into two core areas of study the business of banking and human resource management. This session also outlines the concept of strategic planning and achievement of sustainable competitive advantage. Bank Profitability Analysis Attendees will come away with a clear understanding of the main components that affect bank profitability. You'll explore management's focus on certain ratios and the effect on human resources requirements. Asset/Liability Management In this session, attendees will learn the goals, organization, and process of asset/liability management and how to integrate A/L with human resource management goals. You'll gain a better understanding of how to identify different types of risk and the implications of risk mismatch. You'll also learn about rate sensitivity, pooled funds, conversion of funds, and GAP management techniques. Bank Regulatory & Competitive Environment Learn the forces that affect industry competitiveness and the impact of deregulation on earnings. Key issues for bank survival and prosperity and the shift from product-driven to market-driven strategies will also be discussed. 8 Best Practices: Building and Refining Incentive Compensation Plans Explore what works -- and what to avoid -- when developing your bank's incentive compensation plan. SCHEDULE All classes are held at the Fluno Executive Education Center on the beautiful lakeside University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Students stay in single rooms at the Fluno Center, which is an executive style hotel. Classes start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude most afternoons at 4:10 p.m. with 20-minute breaks between classes in the morning and in the afternoon and an hour and 20 minutes for lunch. Registration is at the Fluno Center from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on the Sunday that you arrive. There is an orientation and opening class on Sunday afternoon starting at 3:30 p.m. with a Welcome Reception and Dinner that evening. The program ends by 11:00 a.m. on Friday. 9 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Admission requirements are designed to select those applicants who are prepared by experience and prior education to derive the greatest benefit from this advanced management program. Each applicant must qualify under one of the following criteria: Employees of FDIC-insured banks or savings institutions. State and federal financial institution regulatory officials and directors of banks or savings institutions with educational background and experience comparable to that required of bank officers. Professionals from firms providing services to banks and savings institutions who have the necessary educational and experience backgrounds will be considered for admission on a case by case basis and will be dependent on available space International bankers are welcome and will be considered for admission based on education and experience. As a matter of policy, the Graduate School of Banking does not discriminate among applicants and participants on the basis of race, religion, sex, national origin, color, handicap, orientation or marital status. The eight-story training facility includes 100 executive residence rooms, each with an L-shaped desk, wireless Internet access, queen-sized bed, whirlpool bath, cable TV and direct-dial telephone with voic . Additional guest services include full-service buffet dining in the Executive Dining Room, study pub with billiards, light-fare and full-service bar, fitness facility, business center, convenient underground parking and valet laundry service.
