Jesús se lo entregó a su madre. - Lc 7, Leccionario II 1987 Comisión Episcopal de Pastoral Litúrgica de la Conferencia del Episcopado Mexicano. 10th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME In the very difficult economic times of the last few years, many families found themselves relying on resources that they had never had to utilize in the past. Some households used their retirement savings or tried to sell their homes after a job loss. Others found themselves grateful for unemployment compensation even if it didn't pay all their bills. In Sunday's Gospel, the widow from Nain has lost her only son. In the time of Jesus, this was not only a personal loss filled with grief, but also a devastating economic event. There was no one on whom she could rely for support. With her husband gone and now her only son dead, the woman had nothing. She was in the very worst of straits. That is, until Jesus came along. Suddenly, the widow had renewed hope, as her son was raised up and restored to her. Her life could go on. The plight of our neighbors in need today is not so different from that of the widow of Nain. While we might want to have Jesus walk into town and give them their house or their job back, we know that isn't going to happen. But that doesn't mean that something can't happen. Indeed, something should! As the followers of Christ today, we are his presence in this world. When there are people suffering, we are the ones called upon to reach out and help. There might be one or the other among us who actually can offer someone a job, but most of us will help in other ways. It can be as simple as buying one extra item every time we go grocery shopping to donate to the local food pantry. We can all help! 2013 Liturgical Publications Inc 10º DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO El Evangelio de hoy nos narra el milagro donde Jesús resucita al hijo único de la viuda de Naín. Es importante notar que este milagro solamente lo encontraremos en este Evangelio. La compasión profunda y la preocupación que Jesús mostraba en la desbastada sociedad de su tiempo hacen eco en este pasaje del Evangelio. La viuda se había quedado completamente sola a la muerte de su hijo. En los tiempos de Jesús, las familias dependían de los miembros masculinos de la familia. Al perder a su hijo, la viuda perdía todo tipo de apoyo y protección. Qué podemos aprender de esta historia? Cómo es el cuidado de Dios en nuestros tiempos para las personas más vulnerables? Quién protege a las viudas y a los huérfanos de hoy? La Constitución dogmática Lumen Gentium (Luz de la gente) en su número 35 nos dice que "Cristo, el gran Profeta, que proclamó el reino del Padre con el testimonio de la vida y con el poder de la palabra, cumple su misión profética hasta la plena manifestación de la gloria". Al mostrar su compasión, Jesús mostraba pues la gloria del Padre. El poder de la nueva vida para este joven venía de la autoridad de Jesús dada por el Padre. Ahora nos toca a nosotros pedir a Jesús que nos dé un corazón compasivo y nos ayude a reconocer a los vulnerables de nuestra sociedad. Qué necesitan ellos? Quién los toca para que ellos sanen? Piedad, bondad y compasión son palabras para poner en práctica en nuestra vida. Lo haremos? 2013 Liturgical Publications Inc

Crosier Community of Phoenix 4423 N. 24th Street, Phoenix Classes are FREE but there is a single $7 fee for class materials. All clases will be taught in English. The class is taught by Br. Let us show true reverence to Our Lord and our neighbors! Let us also remember not to eat any kind of food nor chew gum while we are in Church, it is a sacred place and we should keep it clean. Las clases lo prepararán tanto para el examen como para la entrevista. Cuándo? Durante 6 sábados consecutivos, empezando el 15 de junio, en la Comunidad Crosier of Phoenix, en 4423 N. 24th Street, Phoenix. Las clases son GRATIS, solo se pide un costo de $7 para los materiales. Como consecuencia de ello, la asistencia a la Santa Misa disminuye. No olvidemos nuestro compromiso como cristianos. Seamos prudentes en las fiestas y diversiones, aprovechemos las vacaciones para descansar y luego al regresar estemos bien dispuestos a seguir concurriendo a la Iglesia y participando con mucho fervor. CONSIDERACIONES PARA EL VERANO Pedimos a todos los miembros de Inmaculado Corazón de María prestar atención a su manera de vestir cuando vienen a la Casa de Dios, a pesar del calor del verano, recordemos no debemos usar pantalones cortos o camisas y blusas sin mangas. Mostremos cuanta reverencia tenemos a Nuestro Señor y a nuestro prójimo. Recordemos además, que en la Iglesia no debemos comer ni mascar chicle este es un lugar Santo y nuestro deber es conservarlo limpio. Gracias!

5 PAGE 4 10º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario FAMILY SUPPORT COORDINATION Is a service provided by seven participating non-profit organizations to help families cope with life changes. The service will help you to find the community resources and support you need. Families looking for assistance with multiple issues often have a difficult time finding resources. Family Support Coordination can help make sure every member of your family has access to quality care, education and support. Families with at least one child under age of 6, who has not started kindergarten, families that need assistance with several issues, families living in Central Phoenix. For further information call Family Support Coordination at BAPTISM INFORMATION Parents must come to the Parish office to register. Requirements: Child must be younger than 7 years old. If older he/she needs to be registered in the Religious Education Program. Bring the original Birth Certificate of the child Godparents Confirmation certificate (if single) or Church Marriage Certificate if they are married Donation is $60.00 (Non-refundable). The dates of the classes are given at time of registration. If baptism class has been taken, please bring proof of the class date and attendance. The next baptism date is Saturday, June 29th at 9:00am (English) and at 10:00am (Spanish).
