1 Profe: Señora Lerma Heritage 2 Año escolar Objetivos: To be immersed in the Spanish Language enhancing the four skills listening, speaking, reading, and writing applying them in authentic situations. Materiales: Pocket Folder (for Spanish class only) Notebook (for Spanish class only) Pencil or pen (black or blue ink) Sistema de calificación: Grades will be based on formative and summative assessments on the four skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking including the following items: Formative Assessments : 20% of you grade These include academic practice such as worksheets, quizzes, speaking and listening activities, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, classroom participation, warm-up sheets handed in every Friday at the end of class. ( 5 points) Summative Assessments : 80 % of your grade These include. Tests. Projects, presentations. Retake policy: must be consulted and preapproved by the teacher

2 Grading Scale A A B B B C C C D+ 67% % D 64% % D - 60% % F 59% and lower Academic Dishonesty ( Cheating and/ or Plagirasim) There is zero tolerance for cheating, copying from other students, copying from the internet or any other source, included, but not limited to online translators Cheating will invalidate your paper. Providing answers to other student may also invalidate your paper. Your Rresponsibility: Be prepared Participate actively Be respectful of others by keeping your hands, feet, and objects to yourself and use appropriate language. Take risks. Language requires participation. Class participation is the opportunity to practice and learn. As you walk into the classroom you need to sit down and start working in the warm-up activity. At the end of class you need to complete the exit ticket. Each warm-up sheet is handed in on Fridays at the end of class. Turn in work on due date. Be focus at all times. Get to class on time. As you enter the classroom, sit down at your assigned seat, and start completing the warm-up sheet. If you arrive tardy, you need to bring a pass. Stay in your assigned seat at all times.

3 Expectations: 1. Be on time 2. Come to class prepared. ( Bring writing utensils) 3. Stay at your assigned seat 4. Be on task 5. No phone use in class. Use of Language You will be immersed in Spanish. I encourage you to use Spanish as much as possible to communicate with your peers and myself. At the beginning you may be using 10% of the time, increasing as the year progresses, moving to the goal of 95% by the end of the school year. Absences In World Language classes we practice actively on a daily basis. Learning the language comes with practice and interaction with your classmates. I encourage you to be present at all times. However if you have to be absent for any reason it is your responsibility to get the assignments you missed. Excused absences: you have three days to complete and turn in the assignments from the day you reported back to class. It is your responsibility to get the missed assignment. Unexcused absences: Missed assignments and/ or tests/ quizzes had to be completed the day you report back to class. Field trips/ school activities: You are responsible to turn in the assignments on the day they are due. Late work: work turned in late will be given 80% of the grade Seating: You have to sit in your assigned seat unless a staff member or myself reassigns you a different seat.

4 Entering the classroom: As you enter the classroom, you have to proceed to your assigned seat and start working on the warm-up activity right away. If you get to class after the last bell rings, you have to get a pass to be accepted tardy. Leaving the classroom: Before the end of the hour, you have to complete the exit ticket in your warm-up sheet. Warmup sheets have to be turned in on Fridays, at the end of class. Phone use and use of technology: School practice discussed and posted in the bulletin board will be observed in our class.
