The Pluperfect Tense In Spanish the perfect tenses all use some form of the helping verb haber. The pluperfect is translated had To form the pluperfect, use the imperfect form of haber followed by the past participle I had u had He had We had They had Spanish IV Grammar Topic: The Future Tense Regular verbs in the future tense start with the of the verb. Regular ar, er, and ir verbs all use the same endings: Él, Ella, Ud. Nosotros Ellos, Ellas, Uds. Endings Estudiar Comer Sacudir Notice all forms have accents except Irregular stems Tener = Poder = Saber = Hacer = Decir = Poner = Salir = Querer = Haber = Venir = Irregular stems use the same endings as the regular verbs.
Spanish 4 Chapter 6 Grammar: Double Object Pronouns Me u Him, her Us They, u all Direct Object Pronouns Indirect Object Pronouns When we use a direct and an indirect object pronoun together, the indirect object pronoun comes first. When the indirect object pronoun le or les comes before the direct object pronoun lo, la, los or las, it changes to se. When we attach two direct object pronouns to an infinitive, a command or a present participle, you must add an accent to preserve the stress. Please note we can never attach pronouns to the end of a past participle The passive voice with ser Active voice is when the subject is Passive voice is when the subject is To from the passive voice we use the verb and the Since the past participle is being used as an adjective, it must When we mention who the action was performed by we use Example: Since partidos is plural, we use the plural form of the verb. Active Los partidos políticos organizaron las campañas electorales.
Passive Las campañas electorales fueron organizadas por los partidos políticos. Since campañas is plural our verb is plural as well and since it is also feminine we use the feminine plural form of the adjective. Last year we learned that we can use to express passive voice when the person performing the action isn t mentioned. Examples: More money is needed Se necesita más dinero. FORMING THE PRESENT SUBJUNCTIVE To form the subjunctive, start with the verb in the form in present tense. Remove the, then add the appropriate ending. Pronouns -ar endings hablar -er ir endings él, ella, Ud. nosotros ellos, ellas, Uds. Comer SPELLING CHANGES IN THE SUBJUNCTIVE Pronouns -gar Pagar -car tocar -zar Cruzar él, ella, Ud. nosotros ellos, ellas, Uds.
SAMPLES OF VERBS WITH IRREGULAR YO FORMS Pronouns hacer conocer salir poner Recoger indicative yo él, ella, Ud. nosotros ellos, ellas, Uds. IRREGULARS dar estar haber ir saber ser Using the Subjunctive Subjunctive is a Mood, not a tense. It expresses opinions, feelings, suppositions, dreams and speculation. The Indicative deals with current or past reality. In most cases, you can identify he need for the subjunctive by identifying 2 things So, what is a WEIRDO phrase? W E
I R D O We do NOT use the subjunctive to express facts, beliefs, truth, certainties or the obvious. Stem Changing Verbs and the Subjunctive -ar and -er verbs change their stem in all forms but the Pensar Recordar Mover Entender -ir verbs change their stem in forms Mentir Preferir Dormir Medir
Other verbs that match the pattern of Mentir and preferir: Other verbs that match the pattern of Medir: IRREGULARS dar estar haber Ir saber ser The Present Perfect of the Subjunctive When we want to express the subjunctive in the past, we use the Present Prefect Subjunctive. u form the present perfect subjunctive the same way you do to the present perfect, except that you put haber in the subjunctive. Esperar Comer Escribir Resolver
Spanish IV Grammar Topic: The Conditional Tense The conditional tense is conjugated would Verbs in the conditional tense start with the same verb endings as verbs in the future tense.
