3 Agenda Procedures Agenda s will be our way to communicate daily with parents. Parents will sign the agenda daily and return it to school. Student s behavior will be marked daily in the agenda book. A star means your child has had a great day! After 10 stars have been earned, students will get to pick a treat from the treasure box.

5 Homework Policy Homework will be given each day Monday-Thursday. Homework will be placed in the back of the agenda book in the plastic sleeve. Please check the back of the agenda books for newsletters, daily homework or any important news. Homework needs to be returned everyday!

Please help your child return their homework daily so they can participate in the recess reward!

9 Parent Volunteers We need parent helpers and encourage you to be involved in your child s educational experience! Opportunities to be involved could be, chaperones on field trips, tutoring students, helping with our Fall and Valentine s day parties and reading AR books with students. We do request that you allow the teachers and students time to establish a working relationship for the first few weeks of school. If you would like to Volunteer please let your child's teacher know so we can establish a time that will benefit both you and our students. Parents and teachers work hand in hand, together, to give your child the best education we can.

Pedimos que nos permita el tiempo de establecer una relación de trabajo entre maestros y estudiantes por las primeras semanas de la escuela. Si quiere ofrecerse como voluntario, favor dejarle saber a la maestra de su niño/a para que podamos establecer un tiempo que beneficie usted y nuestros estudiantes. Los padres y los maestros trabajan como equipo, juntos, para dar a su niño/a la mejor educación posible.
11 Accelerated Reader Program AR is a wonderful program which allows students to grow as a reader and earn points for awesome prizes! To receive points students check out an AR book marked with a blue sticker from the school library. After the book has been read, the student will take a test over the book on the computer at school. You receive points for answering questions correctly! We encourage parents to come help their child achieve their goal by helping them read their books and take the test on the computers in our school library. 9 week Incentives-receive a special activity! Year Long Goal-All students reaching the grade level year goal will qualify for the end of the year celebration! Kindergarten s Goal-12 points

13 Transportation Home Your child s safety is exceptionally important to us! Please write in their agenda if your child s transportation change. Make sure your student and teacher know your child s bus assignment (number). If your child s transportation home changes, please call the office to inform them AND write in your child s agenda.

15 Communication We will communicate daily with the agenda books and we will send home monthly newsletters. These newsletters will let you know what we are learning in both Spanish and English classes, math, reading, science and social studies topics. We will inform you about days school is not in session as well as special activities we have planned at school.

17 Celebrations! We celebrate our learning as well as other important days throughout the school year. Birthday s will be celebrated the last 20 minutes of the school day. Please notify your student s teacher if you plan to have a birthday celebration at school. If you want to invite student s from your child s class to a party at school, please mail the invitation to their home unless you are including the whole class.
