2 New Name...Same great program! Welcome to the Adult Learning Center! Tuition and Fee Information The ALC tuition and fee schedule is made affordable for our learners. Tuition and fees are paid when enrolling in a course. Payment guarantees space in a class. Tuition, materials and book fees are included in all course fees. Total costs are noted in the course schedule. Payment arrangements can be made; however, in order for a payment arrangement to be initiated a learner must pay at least 50 percent of the tuition and fees at the time of registration in order to be eligible for this arrangement. Students will not be turned away for non-payment. For more information, please call or Method of Payment Cash, check, VISA or MasterCard may be used to pay tuition and fees. There is a $20 charge for returned checks. All tuition and fees are payable at the time of registration. Students receiving agency or employer-sponsored funding must have current billing authorization at the time of registration. Refund Policy In order to obtain a refund, the learner needs to bring a copy of the tuition and fees receipt to the ALC office before the end of the first week of class. The following procedures apply to refunds: 100% of tuition and fees will be refunded prior to the beginning of class. 100% of tuition and fees is refunded, if a class is closed due to insufficient enrollment. 100% of tuition and fees are refunded before the end of the first week of class. No refunds will be given after the first week of class has expired. All refunds will be mailed in the form of a check once all required documentation has been submitted to Adams 14 Finance Department.

3 Orientation Learners registering for GED or English as a Second Language classes are required to attend orientation before they can register for classes. Please be advised that this is a two to three day process in which you will do orientation on the first day and come back the following days for placement testing. Courses Adult Basic Education (ABE) Basic English classes are designed to give the student a basic foundation in the skills of reading, writing, spelling, grammar and vocabulary. Instruction focuses on both the basic content of the test, and test-taking skills. All learners will take practice tests to determine their readiness for the official GED exam. 5 GED IN SPANISH Take GED classes in Spanish with our program. These classes prepare the student to take the Spanish version of the GED Assessment. All of the Spanish GED classes are offered in Spanish. The majority of employers and training programs, colleges and universities accept the Spanish GED certificate as an equivalent of a High School diploma. 7 Basic Computer Skills Computer courses are open to all learners enrolled in the Adams 14 Adult Learning Center program and community members. Learners must register at the beginning of the semester in order to ensure their spot in the class. Students will learn many basic computer operations that range from learning how to turn on the computer, setting up an account, and how to use basic functions in Microsoft office. *All instruction is done in English and it s recommended that learners have a high level of English skills prior to enrolling in this class. 14 Orientación A los alumnos que se inscriban en las clases del GED o de inglés como segundo idioma se les exige que asistan a la orientación antes de que se puedan inscribir para las clases. Tome en cuenta que este es un procedimiento de dos a tres o días en los cuales usted va a recibir orientación en el primer día y los siguientes días va a regresar para un examen de colocación. Cursos Educación Básica Las clases del inglés básico están diseñadas para otorgarle al alumno la fundación básica dentro de las técnicas de lectura, escritura, ortografía y vocabulario. Las clases de matemáticas básicas incluyen la instrucción de los conceptos numéricos y de operaciones matemáticas que trabajan con números enteros, fracciones y decimales. 15 Nuevo Nombre...el mismo gran programa Bienvenidos al Centro de Aprendizaje para Adultos Información de la Matriculación y Costos La matriculación y los costas son accesibles para nuestros alumnos. La matriculación y los costos se deben pagar al momento de inscribirse en un curso y arreglos de pagos deben hacerse al momento de la inscripción. Su pago garantiza su lugar en la clase. Los cotos incluyen la matriculación, materiales, y libros. El costo total de clase se indica en el hororia del curso. Se pueden hacer acuerdos de pagos; sin embargo, para poder hacer un arreglo de pagos, el estudiante debe pagar por lo menos el 50 por ciento da la matriculación y los costos a la hora de inscribirse para que pueda ser elegible para este acuerdo. Existe un cobro de $20 dólares por los cheques sin fondos. La matriculación y los costos tienen que ser pagados al momento de inscripción. Estudiantes que sean patrocinados por una agencia o por empleador debe tener la autorizacion para hacer la fractura al momento de inscripción. Póliza de reembolso Para obtener un reembolso, el estudiante debe traer una copia del recibo a la officina de matriculación del Centro de Aprendizaje para Adultos antes de que termine la primera semana de clases. El siguiente procedimiento aplica para los reembolsos: 100% de reembolso de la inscripción y cuotos se va a devolver antes de que comience las clase. 100% de reembolso de la inscripción y cuotos se va a devolver si alguna clase se cierra por falta de inscripciones. 100% de reembolso de la inscripción y cuotos se va a devolver antes de la conclusión de la primera semana de clases. No habrá reembolsos después de la primera semana de clases. Los reembolsos serán enviados en forma de cheque por correo en cuanto todo los documentos esten en orden y sean entregados al departamento de finanzas del distrito Adams 14.
