(Mt 26:40) November 13 Parish Center 6:30 PM We are introducing an exci ng new parish program, Queen of Heaven: Mary s Ba le for You, which paints the epic narra ve of Mary s life. This program does not just tell of her life in Scripture. It begins before the dawn of me, when she was only an eternal thought in the mind of God, and extends into today. Just as Christ lives on through His Church, Mary lives on as the Mother of the Church. In a ba le between the Angel who said No, and the woman who said Yes, you will see your mother intervening at pivotal periods in history to draw us back to her Son, including at her most well known appari ons. 9 La Corrección Fraternal Mateo, 18, Oración introductoria Señor, gracias, por ser tan bueno. Por darme la oportunidad de este momento de oración. Ayúdame a estar atento a las inspiraciones de tu Espíritu Santo. Este día seguramente estará lleno de desafíos y actividades, oportunidades para perdonar y buscar el perdón: con tu gracia lo podré vivir plenamente. Petición Concédeme cultivar, Señor, un alma contemplativa, sencilla y alegre para lograr ser un instrumento de tu paz. Meditación del Papa Francisco Las etapas en este itinerario indican el esfuerzo que el Señor pide a su comunidad para acompañar a quien se equivoca, para que no se pierda. Es necesario ante todo evitar el clamor de la crónica y los chismes en la comunidad. Esto es lo primero que hay que evitar. 'Ve, amonéstalo, tú y él solos'. La actitud es de delicadeza, prudencia, humildad, atención hacia quien cometió una culpa, evitando las palabras que puedan herir y asesinar al hermano. Porque ustedes saben que las palabras matan. Cuando hablo mal y hago una crítica injusta, cuando descarno a un hermano con mi lengua, esto es asesinar la reputación del otro. También las palabras asesinan. Vamos, con esto, seriamente! Al mismo tiempo esta discreción, de hablarle estando solo, tiene la finalidad de no mortificar inútilmente al pecador. Se habla entre los dos, ningún otro escucha y todo acaba aquí. Y a la luz de esta exigencia se entiende también la serie de sucesivas intervenciones, que prevé involucrar a algunos testimonios y después a la misma comunidad. La finalidad es de ayudar a la persona a darse cuenta de lo que ha hecho, y que con su culpa ha ofendido no solamente a uno, pero a todos. Reflexión Nos dice nuestro Señor que "si un hermano peca -o sea, falla en cualquier cosa de moral o dignidad en su comportamientorepréndelo a solas entre los dos. Si te hace caso, habrás salvado a tu hermano". Con esto nos está diciendo el Señor que la corrección es un bien y un servicio que se hace al prójimo. Pero aquí también hay reglas del juego, y hemos de tenerlas muy en cuenta para practicar cristianamente estos consejos de nuestro Señor. Veamos algunas de ellas. La primera es que, antes de corregir a los propios hijos o a nuestros educandos, debemos estar muy atentos nosotros para no faltar o equivocarnos en aquello mismo que corregimos a los demás; y, por tanto, el que corrige -ya se trate de un maestro, de un educador y, con mayor razón, de un padre o madre de familia- debe hacerlo primero con el propio testimonio de vida y ejemplo de virtud, y después también podrá hacerlo con la palabra y el consejo. Nunca mejor que en estas circunstancias hemos de tener presente el sabio proverbio popular de que "las palabras mueven, pero el ejemplo arrastra". Las personas sobre todo los niños, los adolescentes y los jóvenes se dejan persuadir con mayor facilidad cuando ven un buen ejemplo que cuando escuchan una palabra de corrección o una llamada al orden. La segunda regla es que, al corregir, hemos de ser muy benévolos y respetuosos con las personas, sin humillarlas ni abochornarlas jamás, y mucho menos en público. Cuántas veces un joven llega a sufrir graves lesiones en su psicología y afectividad por una educación errada! Y es un hecho que muchos hombres han quedado marcados con graves complejos, nunca superados, a causa de las humillaciones y atropellos que sufrieron en su infancia por parte de quienes ejercían la autoridad. Y no digo yo que no hay que corregir a los niños -dizque para no traumarlos, pero sí que hay formas y formas. Diálogo con Cristo Señor, te pedimos que al corregir, procuremos usar una gran bondad, mansedumbre y miramiento, y de un hondo sentido de la justicia y la equidad. Si somos corregidos alguna vez pues también nosotros estamos sometidos a autoridad, no nos rebelemos ni tomemos a mal la corrección, sino con buen ánimo, con humildad y sencillez, según Tus palabras: "Hijo mío, no menosprecies la corrección del Señor y no te abatas cuando seas por Él reprendido; porque el Señor reprende a los que ama, y castiga a todo el que por hijo acoge" (Hb 12, 5-6; Prov 3, 11-12).
