9 María presenta a Jesús en el Templo Fiesta de la Presentación del Señor. Este día nos recuerda lo importante que es presentarnos, ofrecernos a Dios. Oración introductoria Prepara, Señor, mi corazón para que con una disposición de apertura y docilidad te deje entrar hasta lo más íntimo de mi alma pues sé con certeza que quien se pone en tus manos está en camino de la verdadera felicidad. Petición Que me acepte, Señor, como soy para que, reconociendo tu mano en mi creación, pueda prepararme con entusiasmo cuando me presente ante ti al final de la batalla. Meditación del Papa Francisco El Evangelio viene a nuestro encuentro con una imagen muy bonita, conmovedora y alentadora. Es la imagen de Simeón y de Ana, de quienes nos habla el Evangelio de la infancia de Jesús, de san Lucas. Eran realmente ancianos, el viejo Simeón y la profetisa Ana que tenía 84 años. No escondía la edad esta mujer. El Evangelio dice que esperaban la venida de Dios cada día, con gran fidelidad, desde hacía muchos años. Querían verlo precisamente ese día, recoger los signos, intuir el inicio. Quizá estaban también un poco resignados, ya, a morir antes: esa larga espera continuaba sin embargo ocupando su vida, no tenían compromisos más importantes que este. Esperar al Señor y rezar. Y así, cuando María y José llegaron al templo para cumplir la disposición de la Ley, Simeón y Ana se movieron impulsados, animados por el Espíritu Santo. El peso de la edad y de la espera desapareció en un momento. Reconocieron al Niño, y descubrieron una nueva fuerza, para una nueva tarea: dar gracias y dar testimonio por este Signo de Dios. Simeón improvisó un bellísimo himno de júbilo. Ha sido un poeta en ese momento. Y Ana se convierte en la primera predicadora de Jesús: hablaba del niño a quienes esperaban la redención de Jerusalén. Reflexión La presentación de Jesucristo toca el timbre de nuestra conciencia al recordarnos lo importante que es presentarnos, ofrecernos a Dios. Este presentarse adquiere diversos matices: primero, la donación que hacemos de nosotros mismos a Dios al escucharle, al dejar que cada día vaya plasmando su obra en nuestra vida. Cada alma en particular fue creada con un fin, con una misión concreta dentro del plan providente de Dios, y Dios quiere hablar y manifestarse en el mundo, pero necesita voluntarios. Significa además la entrega que hacemos a todos los que vamos encontrando en nuestro camino. Cuánto puede ayudar una sonrisa! Basta un gesto, una actitud. Por último, dicha presentación asegura, firma un pacto, cuyo cumplimiento tendrá lugar en el momento de nuestro abrazo definitivo con Dios, cuando cansados de nuestro peregrinar por esta tierra, le podamos decir a Dios: Valió la pena apostar por ti! No son las grandes predicaciones, no son las grandes obras de apostolado ni los proyectos de gran envergadura los que suscitan la verdadera admiración de los hombres. El asombro viene cuando detrás de todo aquello está un hombre que vive de Dios, un hombre que aprendió a presentarse a Dios y a los demás. María Santísima es experta en llevar nuestras obras a buen puerto. Basta una decisión libre y un entusiasmo por lo que tenemos que hacer. Propósito En cinco minutos que saque de oración, pediré por aquellas personas que he conocido. Diálogo con Cristo Qué paz me da, Señor el ejemplo de tu Madre al ofrecerte a Dios, como el acto de cualquier mamá que ofrece a Dios el fruto de su amor a Dios en cada alumbramiento. Que el día cuando me presente a ti, pueda a mi vez presentarte otras muchas almas, ganadas para ti con horas de oración y sacrificio. Hazme comprender que cada acto de donación es una invitación a los hombres a creer en ti.

10 Carolina Catholic Chorale to Sing a Solemn High Orchestral Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church Saturday, January 6 th 2018 at 5PM in observance of the Feast of the Epiphany Sacred music will be the beautiful Missa Brevis in B Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart together with the Gregorian chants of the day. The Chorale, accompanied by an ensemble of strings and organ, will be led by its founder/artistic director, Thomas F. Savoy. *The Mass will satisfy the Sunday obligation.
