I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and was able to spend lots of time with family and friends. I would like to take the time to thank the PTA for helping make all the activities in December a huge success! I would also like to thank Santa (Gary Slocum) for visiting with all of our students. It was a pleasure seeing all of their excited faces. Lastly, I would like to thank all of our awesome ECC parents for continuing to work with your children at home and joining us for all our winter activities. Have a wonderful and Happy New Year! We really need underwear in sizes 3T, 4T and 5T (new ones preferred) and elastic waist/sweat pants or shorts. If your child has outgrown any of these items, or you have any extra at home, we would appreciate it if you would donate them to the ECC. Thank you!
P.T.A. News: PTA officers would like to thank all the volunteers that helped out and made activities possible in 2014 and are looking forward to a great 2015! There are many opportunities coming up for you to help out if you would like to get involved. Our next PTA meeting will be January 14 th at 8:15am & 12:15pm in Room 15. Hope to see new and returning faces there! The fundraiser party will be on Friday, January 16 th from 12-1:00. For the students that sold 15 or more items, the limo ride will be from 1:00-2:00. PTA will be sending home more information soon! Motheread/Fatheread: Happy New Year and Welcome Back! Motheread/Fatheread will meet on January 21 st at 8:15am and 12:15pm in Room 15. I m excited to start the new year with all who have attended and welcome any new parents who want to take advantage of this great literacy program! Parent Coffee Meetings: Please join us at our next Parent Coffee on January 28 th at 8:15am & 12:15 pm in Room 15. This month we will have the Kids Frist Health Clinic join us. Please take advantage of this opportunity! Remember that parent involvement is a key factor in a child s educational success, and this is an opportunity for you to get involved with your child s school, get information on various topics and meet other parents and members of our community! Hope to see you there! Snow Days Reminder: Winter weather is upon us and we will be encountering snowy drives to work and school on a regular basis. Please note that we are a part of Adams County School District 50 and you can consult the local news stations (TV and radio) and our website, www.adams50.org, to determine if we have school closures during inclement weather. If Adams 50 or Westminster District 50 is not listed as having a delay or cancellation, then we are open for school as usual. If District 50 is delayed then AM preschool sessions are cancelled and PM Sessions will start on normal schedule at 12:00PM. While we realize that traveling can be difficult in winter conditions, we do ask you to do your best to get your students to school even on snowy days.
Parking Lot Updates: Thanks to all the parents who help make our parking lot safe on a daily basis. We truly appreciate all your efforts to keep our students safe in the parking lot. A few reminders: 1. The handicapped parking spots are in the front and on the side of the building. These are for cars that have handicapped plates or decals only. Please observe this parking rule. You can be ticketed for parking in handicapped spots without a handicapped decal or placard. 2. Please remember to cross at the crosswalks and hold your students hands. 3. Watch for icy spots while walking to and from the school. Registration: It is that time of year when we need to start thinking about registering for the 2015-2016 school year. 1. If you have a student who will be 5 by October 1 st, 2015, then they are of age to attend Kindergarten in District 50. At this point, you should be making contact with your child s home school and making sure they know you will be bringing your student. During conferences we will have your child s home school information available and will be asking where you plan to send your child for kindergarten. 2. If your child will be returning to the ECC for preschool, you will receive a registration packet in early February. Please complete the information and return it to the main office. Returning students that register for next school year will get preference over new students. 3. If you (or someone you know) will be registering a new preschool student at the ECC next year, we will begin taking new registrations starting February 3 rd and Registration Packets will be available to pick up in the ECC office starting February 2 nd. The registration packet will also be available on our website to download and print. Our program will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and students will be notified of their placement in our program by late May or early June.

Aproveche esta gran oportunidad! Recuérdese que el involucramiento de los padres es una de las llaves para el éxito educativo de sus hijos! y esta es una oportunidad para involucrarse en la escuela de sus hijos, recibir información en varios temas y conocer a otros padres y miembros de la comunidad. Recordatorio para los Dias de Nieve: Ya llego la temporada de invierno y con frecuencia, vamos a tener que viajar a la escuela o el trabajo, bajo la nieve. Por favor, recuerde que somos parte del Distrito Escolar 50 del Condado de Adams y que puede ver las estaciones locales (televisión y radio), o nuestra página web, www.adams50.org, para determinar si hay clases durante los días de mal clima. Si no aparecemos en la lista de retrasos y cancelaciones, entonces tendremos clases como de costumbre. Cuando el Distrito 50 anuncia el horario de retrasos, las clases preescolares de la mañana están canceladas. Recordatorios del Estacionamiento: Gracias a todos los padres, que diariamente ayudan a mantener seguro el estacionamiento. Realmente apreciamos todos sus esfuerzos para mantener a nuestros alumnos seguros en el estacionamiento. Algunos recordatorios:
1. Los espacios de incapacitados se encuentran al frente y detrás del edificio, estos son para los autos con placas o identificación de incapacitados solamente. Por favor, obedezca las leyes de estacionamiento! Le pueden dar una infracción/multa si no tiene placas o documentos de incapacitados y está estacionado en estos lugares. 2. Recuerde de cruzar solo en el cruce de peatones y de tomar a su hijo/s de la mano. 3. Esté atento al hielo y la nieve cuando camina hacia y de la escuela. Inscripciones: Es la época en que debemos comenzar a pensar en las inscripciones para el año escolar 2015-2016. 1. Si usted tiene un niño que va a cumplir 5 años en o antes del 1º de octubre del 2014, entonces él/ella deberá asistir al Kindergarten en el Distrito 50. En estos momentos usted debe estar comunicándose con la escuela del vecindario y haciendo arreglos para inscribirlo/a. Durante las conferencias, les indicaremos cual es la escuela correspondiente para su hijo/a y les preguntaremos a que escuela/kínder, piensa inscribir a su hijo/a. 2. Si su hijo/a va a regresar al ECC, usted recibirá un folleto de inscripción a principios de febrero. Por favor complete la información y regréselo a la oficina de la escuela. Los alumnos que s regresan y entreguen su reinscripción, tendrán preferencia sobre las nuevas aplicaciones de inscripción. 3. Si usted (o alguien que usted conoce) estará inscribiendo un alumno nuevo en el programa preescolar del ECC para el próximo año, comenzaremos a aceptar solicitudes el 3 de febrero. Las aplicaciones de inscripción estarán disponibles en la oficina o página web, el 2 de febrero. Aceptaremos alumnos de acuerdo al orden en que recibimos su solicitud y les notificaremos su ubicación a fines de mayo o principios de junio.
