Un especial agradecimiento a todos los que hicieron posible este evento especial (ellos son Lily, Heather & Alex)! Estoy contenta de compartir que todos nuestros maestros se han reunido en grupos de nivel de grado para compartir las mejores prácticas, compartir recursos, hablar de los estándares comunes de Artes de Lenguaje del inglés, y un plan de instrucción. Los grados K-1 se reunieron con un consultante para ganar una comprensión más profunda de los estándares comunes de las artes de lenguaje del inglés, y los grados 2-5 se reunieron con nuestro maestro de alfabetización. Los maestros van a estar trabajando juntos a través del año escolar para analizar información, compartir las mejores prácticas y plan de instrucción. Especial agradecimiento a todos los que participaron el día jueves en la noche de restaurante de PTA, para recaudar fondos. Nosotros apreciamos su apoyo. FOLDER TODAY FOR YOUR CHILD S PICTURE PACKAGE* Make up picture Day November 19 th Any student absent on picture day, arrived late to school and missed having their picture taken on September 8th, or are new to McKinley (after September 8 th ) will have their picture taken November 19 th. Order forms are available in the office. *Students who would like to have their pictures retaken do not need an order form. They just need to bring the original portrait package to the photographer. Please keep the class photo, if taken and received.) A note outside of the package with the reason for the dissatisfaction will be very helpful to their staff. 7 Es hora para el Show Talento McKinley 2014 INFORMACIÓN SOBRE EL SHOW TALENTO - POE FAVOR LEER!!! 1. SOLAMENTE adultos pueden completar la forma para participar. Cada artista (aún para aquellos con una presentación en grupo) debe de entregar una forma para participar el miércoles, 19 de noviembre. FORMAS DE PARTICIPACIÓN QUE LLEGUEN TARDE NO SERÁN ACEPTADAS, SIN EXCEPCIONES! 2. SOLAMENTE UNA rutina de talento es permitida por cada niño(a). *Los estudiantes pueden participar en el grupo de actuación de Ms. DeBeech. *Ver abajo. 3. Habrá un límite de dos minutos por cada actuación. Las actuaciones son animadas para compartir cualquier talento que ellos hayan incluido, pero no limitados a, cantando, bailando, magia, leyendo poesía, comedia, demostraciones de artes marciales, y desde luego, sincronización de labios! 4. Cada participante del show talento debe de asistir por lo menos tres ensayos regulares además del ensayo general. 10 Community & Cultural Services Department Human Services Division WINTER BASKETBALL ELEMENTARY Grades K - 1 ($125) Grades 2-5 ($130) CLASS/PRACTICE/GAME INFORMATION: Grades (K-1): Introduction to the basic skills and rules of basketball. Class meets one day per week for 1 hour. Class begins 15 minutes after school dismissal. (K) participants will be picked up by coach at dismissal time. No Games. Registration will close on 12/15/2014 to determine which classes will go. Grades (2-5): Practices are structured to introduce participants to sportsmanship, rules, and basic skills of basketball in preparation for league games. NO PLAYOFFS. Teams practice for 1 hour and 30 minutes after school dismissal. Some games may be held during the week in order to accommodate all teams. Two practices per week and a weekly game on Saturdays. Separate leagues for boys and girls. Registration will close on 12/3/2014 to determine league teams! EARLY DISMISSAL PRACTICES: Early dismissal days vary per school. All materials are kid-friendly, and manufactured by H.M.Logi using recycled wood. Frozen Crea ve Drama cs - taught by Kids On Stage Build pretend snowmen, climb over rugged mountains and help save the frozen kingdom! Players explore drama ac vi es, costumes, characters, songs, dances and create skits from Frozen. This processed based expe- rience fosters teamwork and self-expression by tapping into a student s natural storytelling ability! Lego Engineering taught by Playsmart Educa on Lego Engineering is a new, project-based program that teaches students the principles and methods of engineering, architecture and science using Lego! Students build exci ng projects (e.g., mini robots, tanks, bridges and cable cars) that promote problem-solving skills, crea vity, basic math concepts, self-reliance and selfconfidence. Music N Mo on Dance taught by Music N Mo on MNM s curriculum is geared toward children, incorpora ng various genres with ballet as it s backbone. Spanish - taught by Spanish 4 You Helping children become bilingual early in life will impact their future success tremendously.
