Cathedral - A Pictorial History When construction began on the new Cathedral in January of 1998, Cardinal Mahony visited the site almost weekly and took thousands of photos of every stage of the building of our new Cathedral. Hundreds of those photos have been placed in an attractive and colorful coffee-table book of 262 pages chronicling the construction process. There is no other Cathedral in the world where the Archbishop personally photographed the entire construction process of a Cathedral. The price of this striking book is $38.50 plus tax the actual cost of producing and printing the book. It will be open to those persons who have reached their 18 th birthday or are older, who are baptized in the Catholic church and have already received their First Communion, and, for whatever reason, have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
