These three Sacraments -- Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation are called the Sacraments of Initiation because the rest of our life as a Christian depends on them. To commemorate this milestone in his journey to Canonization, the May 1st 8:00 am Mass will be celebrated in his honor. In addition, there will be a special exhibit of items used by the Holy Father during his visit to Los Angeles in You will find the exhibit in Chapel 2 located in the South Ambulatory.

The padded blue prayer folder is embossed with the Cathedral s name in gold lettering on the front cover, and inside contains a personalized certificate with your honoree s name. Crowning Mary we symbolically honor her as Queen, Mother of the Son of God, our messianic King. She is the perfect follower who has won the "crown of righteousness" (II Tim 4:8), the "crown of life" (Jas 1:12; Rev 2:10), and the "crown of glory" (I Pet 5:4). This devotion, a fond memory for some, can be very tender and encouraging as through the nurturing and safe embrace of our mother in heaven we are led to the Divine Son, Jesus Christ. (213) CATHEDRAL ART UPDATE Please take time to enjoy some of the wonderful exhibits of art that can be found in the chapels located along the ambulatories. Art of the Easter Season - Student Exhibition The Cathedral is pleased to present a Juried Art Exhibit from high school students from Loyola and Immaculate Heart High Schools. The exhibit will run through May 31, The twenty award winning art pieces were inspired by the Easter Season. The exhibit is located in the North Ambulatory of the Cathedral. Works of Christopher Slatoff In the Cathedral Art Chapel (north ambulatory), you will find an exhibition of works by renowned sculptor Christopher Slatoff. The focus of the exhibit is the sculptor's meditation on the Church's role as patron of the arts and inspiration for the artist. The exhibit includes casts of several sculptures that he has done for local parishes, as well as work of a personal nature reflecting the spiritual and emotional life of the individual. Slatoff is also the creator of the Cathedral's newest sculpture, "Adoption," a life-sized bronze of St. Joseph and Jesus, also located in the north ambulatory. DID YOU KNOW 2011 Working Together to Prevent Child Abuse brochure available now Each year, every parish in the Archdiocese receives copies of Working Together to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse: Keeping Ministerial Relationships Healthy and Holy. Published in English and Spanish, the brochure is a helpful guide to the sexual abuse prevention policies, programs and resources that have been developed by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Please look for the brochure in the Conference Center Lobby. Please read it and keep it some place for easy reference.
