1 Proyecto Personas Famosas Objetivo Apply your knowledge about Personal Information in Spanish Introduce someone Familiarize yourself with the person s culture. Producto / Evaluación Group 1 Non-native speakers Creative Poster (Visual/ Brainstorm of key words) must reflect the famous person personality. Power point presentation (visual/ auditory/with personal information) Oral presentation (Introduce a famous person ) Producto / Evaluación Group 2 Native speakers Creative Poster (Visual/ Brainstorm of key words) must reflect the famous person personality. Biography of that person. 1-2 pages long. Oral presentation about that person s life. Power point presentation optional.
2 Instrucciones Group 1 Non-nativespeakers You will research the life of a famous person from one of the Spanish-speaking countries. Find their personal information in order for you to introduce him/her to the class. Also you will have to get familiar with their culture and the work they have done (songs/ movies/ artwork or paintings/ books/ accomplishments) Creative Poster: This poster must include several images (collage) and key words that may define the famous person you have chosen. Develop a theme. Build your poster/collage around a central idea that reflects the person s personality. Forexample: Frida Kahlo Key words: artista / Mexicana / auto-retratos / Diego Rivera / Flores / dolor / surrealismo / etc. Images: her paintings pictures of her pictures of her family Frida Kahlo s poster could be in a form of a big frame (like if it were representing one of her paintings) Forexample: Juanes Key words: cantante / canciones / Colombia / guitarra / A Dios le pido / etc. Images: pictures of him pictures of his family Grammys Juanes poster could be in a form of a big CD record or a Vinyl Power point presentation Your power point presentation will be an aide for your oral presentation. Make sure to include the following: - Personal information like: (Only in Spanish) o Full name o Nationality o Where she/he lives / lived o Age/ or age when they died.
3 o Profession o Likes and/or dislikes o Marital status o An interesting fact - Example of their work o songs/ movies/ artwork or paintings/ books/ accomplishments - Conclusion (Spanish or English) o Why did you choose this person? o What did you learn about him/her? Oral presentation You will introduce this person to your classmates. Use your power point presentation as a guide. Make sure that you are conjugation the verb Ser correctly. Mention all the points from your power point presentation (instructions above)

5 o Conclusion (Why Why did you choose this person?/ What did you learn about him/her?) Oral presentation: You will introduce this person to your classmates. You may use your power point presentation as a guide if you want (This last is optional). In Spanish mention all the important details / life events about the person you chose. Make sure to say also what you found interesting about his/her life and culture. Share a conclusion (Why Why did you choose this person?), and explain your creative poster to the class (What images and key words you included.)
