2 30. To evaluate the prescription given the different population groups (age, activities...), and set specific criteria for selecting frame and lens for each case. 31. Transmit the user the necessary information for make a good use of the compensator system (prescription glasses, protective glasses or optical aids) 32. Perform the necessary tests to identify dysfunctions of binocular vision, both strabismus dysfuntion as not strabismus dysfuntion, could be enhanced by visual therapy. 33. Assessing the chances of successful implementation of a specific therapy based on the visual results of the refractive and binocular evaluation. 34. Design and implement visual therapy programs adapted to the characteristics of visual dysfunction, personality and age of each patient. 35. Select the appropriate optical aid according to the patient's visual limitations. 36. Track and control of visual therapy in accordance with the corresponding protocols. Generical: 2. Acquire the clinical skills needed to perform visual examination and treatment of patients Acquire the ability to examine, diagnose and treat visual anomalies with particular emphasis on differential diagnosis To know the different protocols applied to patients. 7 PRACTICES Learning time: 45h Self study (distance learning): 12h Guided activities: 6h Self study : 27h (ENG) El objetivo de las prácticas es proporcionar al alumno las herramientas suficientes para poder realizar el examen optométrico a pacientes de perfiles diversos. Habrá dos ámbitos de trabajo: 1. Prácticas en el puesto de trabajo y bajo la tutela de un Diplomado en Óptica y Optometría que realizará las funciones de tutor externo. El tutor deberá de asegurar que el alumno presencie y/o realice bajo su supervisión un número mínimo de pacientes de diversos grupos de edades; 8 pacientes entre 45 y 64 años 8 pacientes mayores de 65 años Este apartado llevará asociada una actividad obligatoria (4) que también es una actividad dirigida (AD2). Esta actividad presenta una valoración, que implica la participación en los diversos apartados, y consta de dos fases: Fase 1: El alumno entregará al profesor el archivo correspondiente a un nuevo paciente, produciéndose una coevaluación de los compañeros. No implicará nota Fase 2: El alumno entregará al profesor el archivo correspondiente al último paciente. La estructura y desarrollo del caso llevará implícita una nota. 2. Prácticas Presenciales Las prácticas se llevarán a cabo en las instalaciones de la EUOOT. Consta de 5 sesiones de 3h cada una. En cada una de las sesiones se desarrollarán los contenidos prácticos de las diversas unidades. Nº de sesión: 1 Tema: Terapia Visual Objetivo y contenido: Se realizarán prácticas en el manejo del material específico de terapia visual (acomodación, motilidad y binocularidad) Nº de sesión: 2 Tema: Estrabismos y Ambliopía Objetivo y contenido: Se practicará en la realizarán exámenes propios del análisis del estrabismo, tanto en el área refractiva como sensorial y motora. Nº de sesión: 3 Tema: Optometría Infantil Objetivo y contenido: Se trabajará el esquema de valoración, técnicas y examen optométrico en la población infantil. Nº de sesión: 4 Tema: Optometría geriátrica Objetivo y contenido: Se trabajará el esquema de valoración, técnicas y examen optométrico en la población mayor de 45 años. Nº de sesión: 5 Tema: Evaluación Objetivo y contenido: La evaluación práctica de la asignatura consta de dos apartados: 5.a. Examen optométrico en población mayor de 45 años. (Obligatorio 5). En este apartado el alumno deberá demostrar la adquisición de conocimientos y práctica en el examen optométrico de esta población. El alumno realizará un examen Optométrico a un paciente Présbitas o geriátrico. 5.b. El alumno, en el laboratorio, deberá de resolver de forma escrita una serie de casos clínicos de temario diverso. Units involved: All units of the course Regulations for carrying out activities Do not attend three or more laboratory sessions will result in a suspension of the evaluation of the work reports of the laboratory (L). If not done any of the laboratory activities and continuous assessment will be considered evaluated with a zero. In case of partial or total copy of any evaluations of the course will apply the provisions of General Academic Regulations UPC: perform any act of fraudulently assessment involves, at least a score of 0 in that test, and possibly more severe disciplinary processes. 9 / 10
