Esto fue lo último que sucedió que hizo que la gente se fuera del pueblo. b. En tiempos de vacas gordas (párrafo C) significa que en la época cuando todo iba bien, cuando había trabajo y el pueblo pasaba por sus mejores tiempos. c. Les ha llovido sobre mojado (párrafo C) significa que había unos problemas y más problemas han llegado, en este caso como no había niños, se cerró la escuela, como no había trabajo la gente joven se fue. d. Va de viento en popa (párrafo F) significa que las cosas van bien, en este caso la pareja tiene trabajo y están contentos de vivir en el campo porque disfrutan la naturaleza. e. Otro gallo cantaría (párrafo G) significa que las cosas serían diferentes si hubiera industria en la región porque habría otros trabajos además de la agricultura. f. Sigue al pie del cañón (párrafo G) significa que sigue en su puesto a pesar de las adversidades porque los pueblos donde trabajan continúan perdiendo población. El alcalde se siente indignado de que no se haga nada por la infraestructura de pueblos que están llenos de gente mayor como él, porque los jóvenes han emigrado por la falta de trabajo agrícola y ganadero o por el cierre de industrias. En los buenos tiempos había mucho ganado y trabajo agrícola pero los problemas han venido uno tras otro. Hoy en día el pueblo se ve vivo gracias a los turistas que lo visitan. Los Reyes Magos, los niños corriendo y la escuela son recuerdos del pasado. De los niños sólo quedan recuerdos y sólo se ven cuandovienen a buscar los regalos de Reyes en casa de sus abuelos. Gracias a sus atractivos, llegan excursionistas a Obón, donde quedan muy pocos habitantes porque se fueron porque la dificultad de trabajar en esos terrenos con maquinaria. Obón que llegó a tener más de mil habitantes y más cien niños y de estos no queda ninguno ahora. En Obón hay dos nuevos residentes, ella es originaria del pueblo, que hay venido con teletrabajo y les gusta vivir ahí pero se quejan de la falta de descentralización del trabajo en el país y quisieran que el gobierno hiciera algo por los pueblos que se están muriendo. El cura está de acuerdo con que se necesita industria en el campo. El ha trabajado muchos años en esta comarca y cada vez ve menos bautizos y primeras comuniones y más funerales.
